Kitty grooms my husband!

Keljin doesn't groom my hair, but he enjoys exfoliating my skin on a daily basis. As soon as I walk through the door after work, I pick him up for a hug and kiss (which turns into endless licking of my face). My other scheduled grooming time is right before bed. His favorite snuggling spot is nuzzled right between my shoulder and neck, so he has maximum reach to clean my face again. Keljin and Winry both also enjoy licking toes/legs to clean up all the little droplets of water for whoever just came out of the shower.

He has also figured out the human grooming tool called a "shower". He begs to join my boyfriend or I in the on a daily basis. We have to shut the door whenever we shower now, unless we are okay with having a cat soaked to the bone and running around the house afterwards! He just hangs out at our feet in the tub and bats and jumps over all of the water as it falls down. Here is a pic of him after a shower, you can tell how wet he is by the water mark from where his tail was resting on the chair! His fur is all spiky like a dog at the beach lol.

I think it is a form of love, like they groom each other. But I also think it can be added to if they particularly love the scent of the shampoo/conditioner you use. Some scents will get the cats drooling and rubbing so I think combined with wishing to groom you out of love, it can turn into a messy head situation!
Although for some cats, you don't even have to have any hair on your head to get the treatment ;-)

My f2 female goes CRAZY for certain shampoos and other scents. My back has been all sorts of "effed" up for 15 years now and I use a lot of Tiger Balm, Icey Hot, Ben Gay, etc... and it just drives her... well... "bonkers", I guess, is really the only way to put it... I'm not sure how exactly to describe it, but she "gets all up in my grill" and "loves on me"... lots of "grooming"/PLAYFUL bighting, flipping around, rubbing, head-butting, sticking her "tail" so high up in the air she actually falls head over heals (or "tail over head" would be more accurate...) It gets weird sometimes... ;)

The Savullet???

By the way, as if you don't already know this, you're cat is frikin' gorgeous!!!
LOL! Yes, Katie is gorgeous :) She's actually spayed now and lives with a close friend as she needed a home where she could own a human and not compete with other kitties. So much as it killed us, we let her live somewhere else... somewhere 5 minutes from our house that we can visit often! And every time we do, I quickly end up with a new hairstyle...she most definitely remembers us and still loves us :)
