Highlights from the trip so far--the one-eyed taxi driver hired by the train company to drive us 3 hrs to Oban from Glasgow when they changed the train schedule without telling anyone. The taxi driver told us all about the points on his driving record due to speeding; the inebriated elderly woman who serves as the taxi driver on the Isle of Mull who had a new car and wasn't quite sure how to drive it; Alan sort of wrecking our rental car the first day because he couldn't get the art of driving on the left (I've been driving since.); stunning scenery; whisky lesson from an appreciative diner who was delighted that I "nosed" my whisky before drinking it.

Will try to load a few pics. The first for any Harry Potter fans is the viaduct over which the train traveled on the way to Hogwarts, located near Glenfinnan.

The weather has been cool and wet, mostly misty rain on and off until today. We are on the Isle of Skye and it's very windy with lots of rain and supposed to stay that way until Sunday which is when we leave for England. High temp is 57, lows at night have been in the 40s. Happy that I brought along my flannel jammies.

Alan walked into the village while I elected to stay by the fire at the hotel to enjoy chocolate and whisky.

I prefer it a bit cooler. It's more pleasant when hiking. Our summer at home is boiling and this is a nice change. Haven't checked the weather recently for England's lake district but it was supposed to be sunny and in the 70s.

Yah...not sure where you are going, but all my UK friends are complaining about the weather! Let me know where you are going and how long you will be there...maybe one of my UK buddies can give you some tips on where to go, etc?
