I'm so sorry, Trishy :-( it must be so difficult! Glad your fur babies helped you through it... They are good at that!

Thanks Paige. It was and they did, and I love them so much for it. As much as I tried to keep a normal routine for them, they all sensed something was wrong and responded.

Trishy, hugs to you. Sorry about your mom. Now what happened to those itty bitty kitties you used to have? They're both so beautiful and big!

Thanks Witchy and Pam, I appreciate it.

My "babies" are 7.5 and 8 months! Wow, does the time fly. I don't think that Leo is going to get that big, maybe about normal cat size. Smooch has got inches on him length and height, yet they both maintain about the same weight... 10.5 lbs this week. Leo leans towards the chubby side and LOVES his food. Smooch has always been slender but filled out a bit in the last week or so and looks more solid. I had hoped that as a female F2 and a male F3 they might be close in size but instead they are close in weight.

Leo loves to chase any toy on a string. He has no preference, he loves them all. He loves to crouch behind something as I pull a toy along. He takes forever to get in position, wiggle and wind up and then chase. Smooch sits nearby and rolls her eyes at him. They take turns chasing and when it's Leo's turn, watching Smooches facial expressions as she observes him is hilarious. She takes hunting very seriously, while he is goofy and playful.

Smooches favorite toys are the ones that break and have to be removed leaving only the string. I need to find stronger string. She likes the deer hair and buffalo mice, but only gets really insane over the string. When she catches it she must prance through the house (with me attached to the other end) to her water bowl. She dips it then proceeds directly to the bathtub where she drops it and waits for me to make it "go" again. Same thing over and over and over. Mice seem to be a business to her. Hunt, catch, kill.

I try to keep things fresh for them by setting up various play areas, a different one each day. Sometimes it's the tunnels, sometimes the packing paper mountain. Loose pillows and blankets for the mice to go around and under. Toys floating in the sink, now that the weather is getting cooler. Closed cardboard boxes with doors and small windows. Something different each day so that nothing gets old.

Smooch is very sweet and pretty much stays out of trouble. Leo should have been named trouble. I can't begin to tell you the very funny things he has done. Hmmm... No one is using the front door right now, we all go in and out through the garage. I masking taped a large piece of white cardboard to the hallway to deter them from rushing the door when it opens. I cut out a hand size opening to pull it closed. Leo jumped up and got half his body stuffed through the hand hold and got stuck. When I walked in the room he was hanging there half on one side half on the other. I was torn between running to help him and running for my iphone for a photo, lol. He had to be uncomfortable so no photo. He loves the gravity game and anything that isn't nailed, bolted, or duct taped down is game. Pulling all of the books off the shelves, one by one. Big hard covers. He tries to stuff himself in tissue boxes. Got stuck in the eaves on the screen porch. But then again, you all know what I am talking about. :)

I love them both so much, they bring me so much joy, love, and laughter.

An hour in the life of Leo...

Wake up, stretch, yawn. Good kitty! Cruise the perimeter of the house and peek out each window giving mom the illusion of being occupied. Head for the bookshelves and start the gravity game, pulling a book off and waiting for it to crash to the floor to start the next. Wait for mom to come running then dash for her computer desk and continue the gravity game with anything not nailed down. Wait for mom then head for the media shelves. When mom turns around, run for the bathroom.

Proceed to work the sink stopper out and run under the bed with it. While mom is on her hands and knees run back to the bathroom for the real objective, the toothpaste tube. While mom puts the toothpaste tube and toothbrushes in the medicine cabinet, run inside and start pushing buttons on the litter-robot. Yay, hit the empty button so that all the litter goes down the chute! While mom is reading the booklet on how to child-lock the buttons, run behind the litter robot and grab the wire and try to pull it out of the wall. (Mom went out and got the wire cover last night) After a loud no from mom run to the nearest tissue box, get it stuck on your head and start running into walls. Once you can see again, head downstairs and run for the kitchen chairs. Stick your head through the bars at the top, then lower it until it becomes stuck. Panic until mom comes and removes you, then repeat.

Run back upstairs and check the bathroom again. Pull all of the damp towels off all of the racks. No reaction from mom, guess it didn't make enough noise. Head for the toilet and continue to practice flushing... ah, there she is! Hi mom, look what I can do! While mom is trying to figure out how to duct tape the toilet lever, run for the water bowl, soak front paws until fully saturated, then head for the litter box. Dig those front paws down and wait for a few moments until you are sure the litter has adhered, then run directly for the master bedroom! Meow pitifully when mom catches you and rinses the litter from your paws and dries them. See mom start to reach her limit so go and play with Smooch who is patiently waiting on the sidelines since she has no access to paper towels. Wait for mom to finish cleaning and vacuuming before removing the cat grass from it's container and dragging it, dirt and all, all over the house.

First is Leo giving me "stink eye". He tries to use this technique when I am eating something. I think that he is trying to employ Jedi Cat Tricks. I am not positive why Leo got all poofy in the one shot. It was the first really cold day and it was raining pretty hard. I let them out on the porch and both of them completely fluffed up head to tip of tail. By the time I got my phone only the tail was left.

Trishy, my condolences to you and your family on the passing of your mother.

As far as Leo goes..... If my memory serves me right... he is a half brother to my Mayhem....... o_O. Cross your fingers, as it might get easier when he is five.... maybe.......
(And he could pass for Mayhem as they look very similar!)

LOL Trishy, I am so happy that I'm not the only one whose days seems surreal. Anyone who has not experienced a high-energy breed would accuse you of exaggerating. But we know better. When Atticus finally goes down for a nap, so do I :sleepy:

Beautiful babies!! I'm convinced the troupe is all in the name. My boy Leo is by far the biggest trouble maker in my house.
