World's Best lavender/multi-cat user here with a new 20lb box upstairs (for kitten arrival) and 40lb box downstairs.
Reading the most recent comments, I totally would have not thought about water + litter visit = mess for dad!!
My boys don't care for jumping in the shower with me except once or twice a month for 1-2 minutes to sniff around when the water shuts off. Luckily, they have already done their business or they are waiting to eat and then do it.
It will be interesting to see what happens when the SV gets here. I am not betting on a water baby given no pattern of that the last 5 months but a lot can change as she matures and falls into the routine. Haha, I say that like it's going to happen without an adjustment month or two.

Maybe try the Feline Pine litterbox system they sell? For me the box is too small but it has a sieve in it so you can remove the sawdust every day and just replenish the pellets. But like the Breeze litterbox system the box itself just is not up to big kitties like Nina and Baz...
Don't count on it, even those that as little kittens don't show too much interest can suddenly notice the water and decide it is fun. My black boy Baz was two years old when he suddenly decided the bathtub was his new toy and jumped in it when I was running a bath. He'd never shown any interest in the bath at all, but now is somewhat obsessed if he hears the bath running...It will be interesting to see what happens when the SV gets here. Before my shower, I try to tire them out with ping pong balls in the bathtub. Half an hour of that, remove the balls, shower! Seems to work here. No more wet kitty footprints on the floor.

I know this post is really old but I just wanted to say thank you to all that commented! I live very close to a TSC and gave their Paw's & Claws litter a try.....I love it! Clumps great, great odor control and is virtually dust free considering it's a clay product. Best of all very inexpensive. Love this forum!!

I used Feline Pine but now use Boreal horse bedding pine pellets which are exactly the same thing but 1/3 the price.
I made my own, larger version of the Feline Pine litter box by using 2 plastic storage tray bottoms. It works great, and if you don't mind drilling hundreds of holes, the 10 dollar total cost is well worth it.

I tried the sweat scoop litter and would never use it again. We had a lot of tiny flying gnats from it and had to wash the trash cans daily. Never again. I now use the blue Tidy Cats litter, since it does not jam the automatic litter boxes. We also have used the Arm and Hammer, but that was jamming the auto litter boxes. Sue

Using the Catgenie since day one. This is pretty much the only thing that I did that took my comfort into account and I am SO happy with it. I used it since day one, and I was surprised to see both my kittens took right too it. I was really worried they wouldn't because it isn't scented and different from what they were raised on before they came to me, but I have a friend who also has a cat from A1 and he said his took right too it as well and that I should try it before I put out the regular litter. I took a bit of a risk at having an accident in my home but everything turned out for the best. I was also worried that the noises it makes would scare away the kittens but the complete opposite is true. BOTH of them love to sit and watch it work, its actually kind of funny. Here is a picture of them watching it work
