It was recommended on another cat forum, possibly this one:

http://www.thecatsite.com/t/260271/chicken-crumbles-as-cat-litter

I'm still determining how long. After a month I'm still mainly smelling the chick crumbles. And yes, it works with an ordinary scoop. It's not quite as fine as most clay litters, so sifting is a bit slower. There are occasional pieces larger than the scoop slots, but it's a very low percentage, >1%.

What I read kind of freaked me out and that was the bugs someone had...I saw someone recommend Best Cob Premium Horse Bedding that she said clumped better than the crumbles...I may try that instead...

Best Cob was too big for a normal sifter...and, I think, it falls apart instead of clumping...

Oh! Hope you all have kitties that don't like to eat kitty litter. My kitty was eating every type I tried.check threads with titles of poop. Now kitty uses dirt and I mix in shredded paper. Kitty even tasted the dirt, in the beginning. But she doesn't show signs of eating large quantities of it. I noticed that most litters dont having anything printed warning against kitties eating it.

Adding baking soda is supposed to stop this behavior. Cats hate bitter flavors--try giving one a Benadryl pill not well encapsulated...

Chris...I bought best cob and it clumps really well...even says on the bag that it clumps...I also bought the crumbles and will try those as well...the guys at TSC told me that many shelters have switched to the equine fresh pellets and that they should be sprayed with water, once put in litter box so they soften up and expand...
