We've suggested before his neuter when there was an issue with loose stools that a PCR panel was a good idea.

I will talk to the vet about this too. They are recommending an X-ray now and maybe test for specific/rare parasites later on..

Unless there is a reason to suspect an obstruction (signs of inappropriate chewing), I don't understand why the xray and not the PCR diarrhea panel. It's not a test for rare parasites, it tests for the most common ones that are often missed in fecal floats.

He's not eating or drinkingg anymore and he's having a lot of difficulty going to the bathroom.

I'm at the vet right now trying to x ray him. They said he's moving around so much that they can't. They suggested a sedative so they can do it. I said no. That's just ridiculous. I'm coming back tomorrow and trying again.

I paid $50 for a fluids bubble they put under his skin. Can't I just give him water with a syringe if he's not drinking any? Idk why I didn't think of it before...

Yes, you can definitely syinge him water if he will take it. I would seriously consider using sedation for the x-ray if needed, it will make it a lot less stressful for both of you, and may offer some answers to what is going on.

Agreed with Patti, sedation can be safe and mean that you get the clearest xray possible.

When you say that he is having a lot of difficulty going to the bathroom, is he straining to pee? That's really scary but I assume that you told the vet that and they checked that out.

Ok I will do that. I just want to make sure the sedative will be okay for him. They said the mostly have ketamine based sedatives. They will call me back to let me know about alternative ones.

I would request propofol or dormitor for sedation, and avoid ketamine if at all possible.

Told the vet about everything in detail. He's having a really hard time pooping. Even for diarrhea. He tries to push it out so hard and it barely comes out... I will sedate and x ray him tomorrow. He's been through so much already. Poor guy.

They gave me Hill's Urgent Care. He ate it all. Thank god. Mixed it with some pure pumpkin and the probiotics Brigitte suggested.
