Look not where I was
For I am not there
My spirit is free
I am everywhere

In the air that you breathe
In the sounds that you hear
Don't cry for me Mom
My spirit is near

I'll watch for you
From the other side
I'll be the one running
New friends by my side

Smile at my memory
Remember in your heart
This isn't the end
It's a brand new start

May 13th 2012 God brought a tiny gorgeous bundle of joy into this world.

He knew that he would be my companion through the troubles I have been going through in my personal life.

February 18th 2013 God wanted Tank to come home so I sent him home.

No words can describe how I felt to hold him for his last moments. The sound of his loud purr fading away and his body going limp in my arms. It was a bittersweet end to his beautiful life. I can rest knowing he is back with God in kitty heaven along with all the kitties you have all loved and lost.

On the very bright side of things God also made chickens and my Tank loved his chicken!! So I made sure his last meal was the best.

This is beautiful. God chose the perfect mama for Tank, as He chose the perfect kitten for you, AprilAnn!

Rainbow Bridge will welcome Tank tonight. Bless that sweet soul that had to leave way too soon. Just know you did the best thing for that little soul. Try to remember the past months before he fell ill. Just know that he will not be replaced, but you can fill the space. I hope you find peace knowing you allowed him to be free of pain and suffering.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I hope knowing that others are shedding tears for little Tank along with you brings some comfort. In time, the memories of his wonderful little self will help...and hopefully in time another kitty companion will help a little to heal your heart.

Thank you all very much!!! It means more than you to know to hear that people out there understand. Most of my colleagues just brush it off like "pfft it's just a cat." I guess if my love for my cat makes me a cat lady then I will wear that title with pride.

Unfortunately my baby is getting progressively worse and in an hour he will be in a better place and out of pain.

Allow yourself to grieve like you would if he were a human baby because he was your baby. Do whatever you need to (ie having a memorial service for Tank, etc) but whatever you do, please cry when you feel like it and don't repress those tears. And as for your colleagues who are brushing it off like it's just a cat, what they may not realize is that the people who are animal lovers also feel the greatest compassion towards people. Keeping you in my prayers tonight.

AprilAnn, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that your fond memories of Tank will bring you comfort. It is amazing how those little paws can wrap themselves around our hearts.

This is a beautiful poem, Deborah...I just posted it on FB for my friends in the Netherlands...they have my kitten Agenor and had to put one of their cats to rest early this morning...I hope this helps them.
