That and she doesn't accept them because it is to expensive to have the machine to run them and everything for the amount of times it would be used..
Not any more! If you download the Square app (available for iPhone and Android), Square sends you a free reader. Works great, and their rates are great, especially for low-volume users--2.75%. My brother is a carpenter and he had problems with people saying they didn't have cash or they're out of checks. Now he whips out the square reader and they have no excuse to not pay him then and there.

That still equates to a lot of money... Keep in mind that for $2500 the fee is almost $70. If they were to accept the credit card, they could charge that fee in addition to it however.

Agreed. But the convenience and the protection square gives you is often worth it. It is for my brother. Otherwise, it's either a very large bundle of cash, or checks. Too easy to bounce a check.

Now days.. Credit fraud is the biggest thing... The merchant many times has to eat those costs as well...

The buyer can also dispute the credit card charges... I've known cases where that has happened and the breeder loses out. Paypal can be similar, in disputes it favors the buyer. So many breeders only accept checks, cash and bank transfers. With checks, you don't release the kitten until it clears your bank.

I wouldn't bank on a payment plan. Most breeders if they do offer that option will hold the kitten while you make payments on the balance and release once paid for. What I had was a very rare occurance and a leap of faith for them. I in no way expected this but I am sure the fact the kitten was getting older and still no sale played a part.
