My F5 Savannah won't eat

I really wouldn't mess with tricks right now, Jon, but get her into your vet asap. Eating for a cat is not like for you or me or even dogs. Cats cannot GO without eating. They can easily destroy their liver- with just TWENTY-FOUR hours of not eating...

If she was normally eating before the surgery- even if she was a picky eater, she was eating, right? And now- seventy-two hours later, she is NOT eating- there is a reason. It's worth going to your vet and not searching online for quick fixes. Trust me- we all want the quick fix that does not involve a high vet bill, but at the moment, your SAFEST and BEST option for your little girl is to pop by your vet for a recheck. It shouldn't cost much since it would be a recheck due to surgery- some vets even include this in their initial surgery fees.

If she ate well before the spay then I would be concerned now. Sometimes infections can be sneaky and the outside appears to have healed up but inside (as this is an invasive procedure) is inflamed. So the not eating could well be a symptom of infection. You said she was sent home with antibiotics? Which antibiotic and how long has she been taking that? Sometimes they send them home with clavamox but something stronger (or a different family of antibiotic) might be necessary.

In terms of attracting a difficult kitty to eat, is she a kitty that loves raw or maybe cooked will tempt her? You can try sandwich meats for example, as most of mine think that is a treat when if I cooked their normal meals they'd turn their noses up. A while back my F2 boy went off his food and we tried so many things...venison, lamb as well as the usual chicken, beef...shrimp... then tried some cheap cat foods and canned Meow Mix won for some reason...it was horribly stinky but it was what he wanted. Once he was eating we then worked on weaning him back onto a better food :)

Sarabi would only eat Fancy Feast a few days after I finally got her eating again. I was like OMG, this HAS to be bad, there is no way this is okay to eat. Then I realized, yes, this is what other cat food smells like. lol

You must get her to the vet, and very soon! Sorry to be an alarmist, but ever since I had a close call with hepatic lipidosis in my beloved DSH a few years ago, I always urge people to get immediate vet care for cats who haven't eaten in a couple of days. HP can develop very rapidly after 3 days without food.

She could be in pain, feel a little nauseous, have a stuffy nose (cats rely heavily on their sense of smell to trigger appetite), or any number of other things.

If the vet doesn't seem overly concerned, or isn't proactive enough, ask for an appetite stimulant. Or another vet.

Have you tried the gold standard - canned tuna? Hope she feels better soon!

Sometimes if they don't eat for a few days they actually lose the hunger sensation. It helps to force feed a small amount to get her going. I have been here twice, once with a imported cat who wouldn't eat for a week. It took cramming a bit of food into him and he started eating. It is dangerous for cats to go without food for too long!

HL is more indicative of what happens to overweight older cats who have gone without food. This can happen but slim younger cats can go without food for longer without the risk of hepatic lipidosis or also known as "fatty liver."

Good news. She's eating again. She still turns her nose up at kibble, be last night and this morning she's eaten 3 bags of raw hamburger. (We buy various meats and put them in "single serving" sandwich/snack bags. we just eyeball the amount to be what she typicially eats in one sitting), so in the last 12 hrs or so, she's eaten 3 servings of hamburger.

That is great news! Do you spent the raw you give her?
