Need Healing Thoughts!

This has to be the most perplexing case for all of us. I would love nothing better than to hear Zeddie has some simple malady that can be found and she never shows another episode....but now that Tiger is ill, too....sigh.

Kristin, I'm sure you've thought of this already, but....do you use any essential oils; room plug-ins; scented candles; aroma sticks; incense; etc? What about the water you use for the cats...tap or bottled?

Is there any chance that fostering Thor might have introduced a bug or virus that is completely unrelated to Zeddie's previous illness episodes?

Tiger's blood work came back, and he has pancreatitis. Zeddie doesn't. I asked what he could get it from, but she said he can get it from pretty much anything.

I honestly think that this is something separate from her earlier sickness. Its possible Thor brought something in, especially as he was being cat sat by someone else and then came back. We don't use any smelly stuff (I use essential oils when I am sick only) because the birds are so sensitive. Plus, it is harmful to cats as well. They get tap water, but when they started getting sick we switched to filtered fridge. I am getting some spring water next week.

Zeddie refuses to eat anything they offer, and they are getting ready to force feed her. The metronidazole isn't working on her, and she still has severe diarrhea. They are taking her off of cerenia to give her an appetite stimulant. I will go to the store and buy some crappy wet food, and see if she will eat that.

I am getting a little frustrated, as the vets seem to write anything that could be environmental off. They are treating this as a whole sickness, instead of considering that it could be a stand-alone problem. They want to keep her all weekend, but no one is there on Sunday, so it seems pointless to me. I told them I want to get a second opinion before doing surgery on her.

I wish I had a magic wand to make Zeddie all better. I'm so sorry, Kristin. I think you're doing the right things, though.

She has an appointment at a holistic vet on Friday. At least this way, if they recommend surgery I will know that I have tried every option.

Sending hugs, headbutts, healing thoughts to you and Zeddie. Auntie Witchy will be worrying about both of you until I hear some good news.

BTW Kristin, Mine will eat Fancy Feast when they are being picky. I know it's not the best, but it WILL keep them nourished, and is not as bad as some.

I bought some chicken covered in gravy. Healthy brands but hopefully enticing. Fancy Feast is the next step. I got some freeze dried raw too (more for when she is feeling a bit better)
At least today I will be there for awhile, but I am really uncomfortable with her being there all weekend.
