Thanks! I will definitely try the chicken/rice. He is currently in our guest room with his own litter box. We keep the door shut except for when I'm going in and out trying to clean up his messes. This is usually when the other cats come investigating. Maybe with a little more time he will settle in nicely and diarrhea will subside. I appreciate yours and any other feedback I may get!
When you say the other cats come investigating, do you mean they come into the room?

I think time on a bland diet, and settling into that room will help and hopefully all will improve :)

They like to come poke their nose under the door and sometimes will open it if it's not shut good... they usually just smell for him (he hides under the bed) by time I get back in there they're just being nosy and smelling his litter box and bed)

Hi everyone! I am the owner of two 5y/o F7 Savannah brothers (same litter), a black stray cat, and recently we've taken in a 5y/o male F4 Savannah (came from same breeder, but different litter). All 4 cats are neutered males and NOT declawed. The F4 (simba) came from a lady who was having health problems and couldn't be around her pets anymore so we decided to add him to our family. He was SUPER sweet when we arrived at his home to meet him and bring him to our house. The minute we got him home (nov. 19) he was so aggressive and has been. His previous owner only fed him Iam's dry food. To try to win his heart over we have been giving him small spoonfulls of canned food. I'm not sure if it's the combo of 1)new house/owners 2) being around other cats 3)canned food but he has had diarrhea for the 2 weeks we've had him. Most times is quarter size amount, but he only uses his litter box to urinate and sometimes for #2. Other times it's just wherever he is.. I'm not sure if maybe he's confused and his stomach is hurting? (The litter being used is the litter his owner sent with him-fresh step w/ febreeze) I tried to take him to the vet last Monday but to no avail. He wedged himself in my closet and under the bed and when I finally was able to pet him, he figured out what was going on once he saw his carrier and he tore my arm up. I do not blame him for being aggressive, but this diarreah needs to end. Could this be causing his aggression? (Note- he is not ALWAYS aggressive, he sometimes will let us pet him without growls, hisses, or swats) he has been eating/drinking water fine other than the fact he refuses to eat dry food anymore. He only wants canned food now. We have started putting small amounts of cat probiotics in his food for the past 4 days with no change in bowel movements. A vet trip is out of the question at the moment since he doesn't trust us enough to pick him up and I'm afraid rounding him up would only stress and traumatized him more.. (side note- he has been introduced to the other 3 cats and is getting along fairly. They don't fight, but there's a lot of trash talk going on) any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank you everyone for awesome advice. I tried the boiled chicken/rice mixture he wouldn't touch it. I think we have a picky eater on our hands. I went to the petstore and purchased calming spray and sprayed his bed and places he likes to sit as well as the doorway where the other cats sometimes peek their noses under. So far so good. I also bought several pouches of food that claimed to be "simple recipes" like shredded chicken in broth, and he liked that. So far today he has only had one accident on towel as before it was like 3-4x/day I was washing towels all the time! (Litter box is sitting on towels to prevent litter going everywhere) so hopefully with a bland diet and a little patience he will find his place in the family! I plan on ordering a diffuser online since it's cheaper than the $40 petsmart one. Thanks again for everyone's help!

Glad to hear things are improving. Be sure to use a good enzyme cleaner on the towels. Most the stuff you buy at Walmart or pet stores isn't strong enough. I use anti icky poo, works great. I order it from Amazon.

Also forgot to mention, a lot of picky eaters don't like the rice. Have you tried only the boiled chicken? It'll be easier on his tummy, even the simple recipe pet foods usually have other ingredients/preservatives in them.

So, about a month ago I asked for some help with my male F4 Savannah. We adopted him November 19, and since has had terrible diarrhea. I've bought purina hard food for sensitive stomach, he's been to the vet twice. Once he tested positive for Coccydia (spell?) and received a weeks worth of liquid antibiotics. No use, so he went back and this time the vet thought it was feline IBS and prescribed another round of pill broad spectrum antibiotics to clear up any possible parasites and a weeks worth of steroids. Well, Simba stopped having accidents and started using his litter box for #2 more often but it did NOT stop the diarrhea. Does ANYONE have any suggestions or experience with feline IBS? This cat is miserable and nothing we are doing is helping.
