New kitten room question

Yep, I'll probably join. The UPS truck stops at my house so frequently that my neighbors think I'm having an affair with the driver.:oops:

Hahaha, I may as well be having an affair with my UPS driver too. ;-) I love coming home to boxes at my front door. Lol

I love Amazon Prime...and I have been invited to participate in the program for my business, so I think it will help increase business to participate. I mean, I love it so much, I'm sure customers will as well.

I have a kitten coming home this Friday, I CAN'T WAIT !!! I have his isolation room set up and have taken some time off of work the following week so that I may be there as much as I can during his first week home. I've done alot of research, and definately will respect the quarantine period in regards to my other pets. I've read that you want to slowly introduce family members as well. The article I read gave the reasoning that you don't want to overwhelm them. My kids are just as excited if not more than I am for Zeus (F2b male) to come home. Any thoughts or stories of your past experience about timing of introduction of my kids to Zeus would be most welcome. Thank you.

That's awesome! Very exciting. Hope to see pics when he arrives. The quarantine period also seems to be huge for bonding with your new kitten also. Keeping his attention on one room, then as you spend time in there he will want to be with you more.

Believe me, I don't think you would be able to keep me away from Zeus when he gets home. I do like other's suggestions on this post of bringing in things to keep myself busy while alllowing the new kitten to get acclimated. Unless someone suggests otherwise, I think I will give the kitten a good 4-5 days before exposing him to my kids =). And most definately will have camera with me when with Zeus, so posting pics will be a pleasure.

I think that is a good idea, Eolsurion, as far as the kids go, although perhaps 4-5 days might be a bit too long...you can introduce him slowly to the kids after the first 2-3 days, I think...I will let the peeps here with children though, answer this question.

Really, read the kitten and his body language. I have never made the kids wait to meet the new Kitties, but they all came from wonderful breeders and were well socialized :) if your kitten is showing fearful, I would wait. Otherwise, kids and Savannahs go together like peas in a pod.

Tyvm Trish, I will definitely do so. He comes from Select Exotics and from all the research that I have done they make socializing their kittens a priority. I will let him be my guide for what he is ready for. =}
