Now that is a great story :) let me ask you a question... The breeder told she weighs 4.3 pounds at 13 weeks old. Is that normal? She seems much larger to me.
These cats tend to look heavier than they are by their long, tall and slender bodies. But that size at 13 weeks sounds above average. Good luck and happy traveling picking up your kitty tomorrow.
Originally I wanted a large cat. Now, I don't care. It's the personality. I scored large in this category!.

Hey Sis(Sue)! How about you come north and meet Mayhem!

Both of you can always write your favorite names on slips of paper and pull one of out of a bowl and agree that whatever is on that paper is her name OR you can wait til she's home for awhile and maybe she'll name herself. They do that sometimes with a characteristic or behavior that is so strong that a name just pops into your mind and you have that AH HAH moment. We're looking forward to you posting about your initial experiences once you have her home. I'm so excited for you.

Precisely! We had... names picked out. And the characteristic gave us the AH HAH moment!

Well 4 hours later with traffic and accidents on I95 finally arrived at home in DC with baby kitten in the car... She was so quiet in the car (unlike any of my other past pets dogs/cats). She is in her special small room and so far after about an hour she doesn't want to come out of her kennel.... I have placed food and water in front of her kennel and now it's just a waiting game. How long should I wait until I physically bring her out and put her in the litter box and try to hand feed her?

Let her come out on her own. Spend time in the room with her, on the floor at her level. Speak quietly, no sudden movements. Don't force her out of the kennel. Don't worry about the litter box. She'll use it when she has to. She might not poop for 2-3 days. See if she responds to a feather wand or other toy. Don't rush it, don't force it.

I suggest waiting until she's nibbling a bit on her own before trying to hand feed her. After she begins to feel comfortable with you and your wife in the room and once she begins to show curiosity toward the both of you, you can try petting her. You may not have to hand feed her. You'll have to exercise patience the next few days to see where she sets her boundaries.
