new raw starter

Most recipes just call for a cup of water per 4-5lbs of ground raw when mixing up your supplements and vitamins. I actually just add warmer water at feeding time, a tablespoon or two, which helps get the food to room temperature quicker. Our cats also have differences in how much water they'll take on with their food, so we need to vary the quantity.

Oke thanks,
I'm already making a notebook so i can write everything carefully down and study their eating behavior.

Yes, not taking is important as is making over lapping batches of their raw so you can keep track of what changes they like better and how much of things like fish oil or eggs they will tolerate.

It can be the greatest food for them ever and it won't matter at all unless they like it and eat it.

This is some great info, I'm hoping to get Loki to eat Raw 2-3x a week and wet food regularly, however, the indications from the breeder right now is that he doesn't have much interest in anything aside from turkey legs, lean beef, and whole prey, but we shall see.

Lauwwste, in the United States the recommended meat/organ/bone ratio is based on the composition of a mouse because it is assumed to be a keystone factor in a feral cat's diet. Most commercial foods attempt to reverse engineer the nutritional aspects of the mouse. If you feed whole prey and kibble or canned, you don't have to feed things like egg yolks except as treats.

Also remember that your kitten may love some foods as a baby that he won't touch as he grows older and vice versa. Their tastes change just like ours do.

Oke, it took some time but i read the information on catinfo

few questions, i have no idea where in belguim i can buy those supplements.
Is it the same then those i can buy in the pharmacy for people ?
The website provides soms links, but it's crazy for me to go buy it from america.

I also found on another site that i must be carefull with feedings to many 1day chicks.
I have been givin it him daily so far. Tomorow i will have my order so i will have chicken, rabit & duck too.
Already mixed with 30% bone.
I will reduce the 1 day chicks to 2 a week.

Now i'm wondering about a mouse.
In the wild it is the biggest food intake of them so i guess 1 mouse daily wouldn't be a problem.

Oke, this is my starting schedule.
From here i will go puzzling on it.
I don't expect you to go figure it all out but can somebody give it a quick look that i'm not doing something terribly wrong.
It's a 2 week schedule.

the morning will always be the same :
6AM : A mouse and wet food
The evening will also always be the same :
Wet food.
At 5PM he will be provided raw.

If i look at it for a month he will get :

- 1 mouse a day
- 10 times a chicken mix meal
- 10 times a rabbit mix meal
- 4 times a duck mix meal
- 2 times a lamb mix meal
- 2 times a fish mix meal
- 4 times 2 1-day old chicks. so 8 a month
- 4 times grinded horse meat as a snack
- 4 times grinded beef meat as a snack.

Maybe i will take out the fish later but i got 1kg now to test, he will already get fish in canned and i have read it could be harmfull raw with some bad luck.

Maybe later i will change to 2 times raw and 1 time canned.
Can i then give him twice the same raw a day or should i change ?
I think it's best i give canned in the morning so i can give too much that he still has some when i'm at work

Hey Lauwwste, I'm stoked with how much effort your placing into this and would love to hear your notes as things go by. I definitely fed a lot of things out of the gate to Chongo, but I really didn't have a plan. Just scrambling to find out what he would eat and then abruptly running out of something. I did have a pretty good idea of what he wouldn't eat and what gave him juicy poops, but I really didn't give some a fair transition period.
