New Savannah kitten

I am a new savannah owner. My kitten acts very wild when we play with her feather toys but I'm confused why she wants to cuddle and sleep with me. She's only 8 weeks old. f4

What do you guys think? Any similarities to get great grandparent, serval?

I don't think I understand your concern, why wouldn't a kitten want to cuddle and sleep with you? Eight weeks old is awfully young for a kitten to go to a new home, what breeder did she come from?

It was local in the Las Vegas area. I was told 12 weeks is the normal time. When I met her, she purred and was very comfortable. So I had to bring her home because I knew I could take better care of her if some bad guy came in.. to breed her like a puppy mill. So, I'm feeding her he fresh vital soft food from Whole Foods. Chicken and pumpkin. She's eating very well, enjoys the food. When she's done eating, I make sure to put her in the litter box in case she has to go to the bathroom. I guess my concern is... will she always be this cuddly and codependent. When I leave the downstairs she cries so I bring her to my room upstairs (I have a food water bowl and litter box upstairs and downstairs) and she stops crying. I just don't want to get so attached and when she gets older, she's not going to be affectionate. I know you should leave them in a small room, which I did the first night. After that day, I left the door open to see if she wanted to explore. She only follows me around the house. Up the stairs. Down the stairs if she notices. If it, she cries. I call for her name. Sometimes she finds me. Other times I have to walk in and let her know she's not alone. Then she stops. I guess I'm just worried about her because she's so young.

Today, I took her to the vet. The vet said she looks perfect and gave me vitamins to give her.

I think part of her crying is anxiety/separation anxiety, not surprising having left home at such an early age. I suspect she will become more independent as she ages, but if you develop a strong bond with her now it will remain for life.

Sounds like a cute little kitty that needs you. Just keep loving her. They grow up really fast, enjoy this time :)
