But she came from a CA breeder?
Yes, they paid to have her shipped to La. At nine months they surrendered her to the Humane Society because they were " terrified" of her. Obviously somebody who had no clue about this breed. I discovered her through a friend in Louisiana who knows my passion for this type of cat. I'm paying to have her brought to me so she doesn't have to fly ! Too stressful.

Welcome to the forum, it sounds like Sahara is very lucky to have been found by you. What does that mean, that she terrified her previous owners?

Thank you Patti! The way I understand it Sahara growled and hissed at her owner so she determined she was too wild and gave her to her mother. The mother could not handle another cat and gave her to the Humane Society. She ended up at a friends house with 20+ cats. She has been living there a year now. She runs a foster house. Knowing my love for cats and that I had lost both my bengals she sent me pictures and that was that. I'm getting her next week. I'll post my own pics when I get her and start bonding.

I wonder if the breeder knows that the baby she raised ended up at a Humane Society :-( Glad you will have her now and give her the loving home she deserves...

I was wondering the same thing Paige!! Heartbreaking.

Most breeders do have a clause in their contract, which states that the kittens sold cannot be placed, given away, etc., without being notified first...but at least the poor baby is safe now...thank you for taking her in.

I had that with our bengals as well. Signed many papers with the breeder. I would love to track down the breeder just to know what I can about Sahara! In the end she will be given a fabulous life... Now
