When my first two little girls were about three months old, one got diarrhoea. We didn't know which one it was, so we separated them by putting one in a large dog crate - hammock, toys, everything. We put the more outgoing kitten in the kennel to determine which had the runs.
During the couple of days we had them separated, the shy baby became quite the hunter and head-butter as she slept with us alone. She absolutely bloomed. Before we could get BiBi to the vet for her problem, it resolved itself and we were left with two cats with more balanced behaviours. Just an observation - don't separate your cats if you're making such good progress.
