Hissing from excitement is a new thing. I've learned about the excited growls previously. I wonder what fascinating sounds I have yet to hear. :)

Well Maliik is a little odd. He usually warbles instead of meowing. And mostly uses a huge variety of hisses to communicate.

Learning the individual expressions of cats is a fun challenge.

My orange boy Paz is a constant talker and I have learned some of his "words", but he has a huge vocabulary. He is also a mimic and has learned to say hello pretty well. If you hear him make that sound at a distance it sounds like a young child saying hello. He will often wander the house looking for other cats or me and bellow it out. Since he gets responses he has adopted it as a routine thing.

If you want a good laugh when it comes to cats mimicking other animals go to YouTube and search for barking cat. There is one that is amazing and when caught barking switches over to meowing as if the barking never happened. :roflmao:

These Savannahs promise to be a whole new world of sounds to learn.:)

Our new kitty Mala makes a similar noise when really excited over her wand mouse. After catching it she starts growling and then the hiss- with a click or pop happens.

Finally caught a nice cool summer night which allowed me to open the window and let the kitties hear the cicadas and other outside noise clearly, and smell the outside air.

So as I was sitting in the chair by the window it dawned on me that something was different. Sure enough, they had disconnected the hose from the wet/dry vac. ;)

Going to schedule a visit soon for Yeti to visit the vet. He still has irritated patches including two scabby ones in rings around his tail. Very odd.

LOL!

I was about to put this device down and go take out the trash when Yeti and Yuki started playing a game of squirrel chase up and around the scratching post!

A final note this evening.

Poor Paz, after the surprise encounter with a just as surprised Yuki, is too afraid to go into the safe room when the Savanahs are locked in the master bedroom. I am sure he will recover, but it might take sacrificing a can of food to lure him in and get him to relax. I even carried him in and he ran back out meowing all the way.

Please make sure that Yeti does not have Ringworm... a visit to the vet is a really good idea!
