She does look a little young for five weeks in those pictures, but you did say these were updated pics, right?

In fact, to be honest, when comparing spotting pattern and color from the first set of pics you posted to the most recent, it doesn't even look like the same kitten to me...

LOL yes she will rafiki. And she sent the pictures to me yesterday, and told me she just took them , so if it is up to date she should have been like 5 and 1/2 weeks old in this picture. I didn't ask what 'just ' meant tho. I know I have seen a few other savannahs on this site from this same breeder , so I know she is legitimate and not a scam or anything. Patti, what are the differences you notice? I tried to compare but I was having a hard time with all the fuzzies in the first pic. She is really a nice lady, and mainly breeds bengals. She sounds pretty old on the phone and told me she has a hard time getting her computer to work, so I am wondering if she has the same problem with her camera. Maybe they are pictures she took a while back, and loaded the wrong ones. I'm not sure......

Look at the spotting pattern on the right side of the kittens - the older pic shows a vertical bar or unbroken spots behind the front leg and on the lower abdomen, the more recent pic doesn't have that bar, and shows more horizontal striping on the side. As you say, it could just be a matter of the fuzzies covering up the pattern in the first set of pics...

Here is another picture I received to! Her camera says it was taken October 8, so I think she sent me a bit outdated picture. I do have pictures of all of the females from the litter when the are babies, but honestly to me I can't tell the difference between the baby and more updated pics. They all look so similar. How do breeders normally tell them apart if they look so similar?

Ah - that makes more sense, this kitten look much closer to 3 weeks than 5-1/2 weeks!

As for telling the kittens apart, after seeing them on a daily basis you can usually pic out characteristics that are unique to each kitten, but some breeders will mark them to keep them straight. Your breeder used paint on the right front paw, others will use non-toxic nail polish to paint the nails or even put a dot on the inside of the ear. Others will put different colored ribbons around the neck. I have only had one litter where I had difficulty when they were young and I used non-toxic nail polish to mark them for a couple of weeks until I could tell them apart by sight.

Yea I agree, I didn't see the date at first! I didn't know the markings stayed on for so long. Hopefully the paint was non toxic!
