In my HO...your vet is going to be the best and quickest diagnosis for possible problems. There are many good breeders that can give good advice, but while trying to sort through all of that good advise...TIME IS WASTING....YOU NEED TO GO TO YOUR VET AND RULE OUT A SERIOUS PROBLEM. If none of the tests come back with a diagnosis...then the breeders will have very good ideas and you will receive some good advice. After all..that precious little soul needs prompt care when a possible health problem is possible. Loose stools can be nothing more than an incorrect diet, stress or too many new foods offered all at once. The problem is..the only way to rule out something more serious is testing. Waiting can cause problems in the future and take much longer to clear up if you wait.

Totally agree Shelby!

Loose stools that don't show signs of firming up in 24 hours are a surefire trip to the vet in our household. Nothing is worse than getting into the weekend where the only alternative is the emergency clinic after hours because you were waiting too long for something to get better. Had enough wrecked Sundays in my life because I didn't do the right thing on Friday or Saturday. Not that in the end things didn't turn out to be OK, but I put my pet and ourselves through some unneeded stress.

I called and asked the Cat Hospital we use and she advised they do a visual test under the microscope and also a float test..and check for both, giardia and tritrich...and if there is any concern or suspicion then they send for further testing...Can you use pine pellets on those robo litter boxes?

The Liter Robot is the brand i have and you must use clumping litter with it. I have 3 cats and they all share the 1 litter robot. i know they say 1 litter box per cat but i don't want a bunch of litter boxes in my place and every time its used the litter robot cleans itself. So i guess they don't really mind sharing since its clean when ever they use it. i just change the bag out every 3 days.

I in fact would like to say...loose stools are not always caused by something that is hard to clear up. Many times it can be stress, food, eating too much at one time..etc. At other times it can be parasites, a virus or oter illness. Either way...the vet is the the one to go to for the reason. The ones on the list can be the ones that walk you through resolving the problem, not the diagnosis. They are good...just not the ones that can tell you what is behind the symptoms. A guess is the best you will get from anyone without a few tests being run. Many things cause the same symptoms and as I said before...time is not always on your side when it comes to a sick cat. They are very good at hiding an illness and BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY IN MY HO. A good vet will get you answers and steer you in the right direction.
