Opinions on Leto's planned diet.

Hi Will:

I fed raw for YEARS and never got into anything quite as complex as the diet you folks are discussing.

I fed poultry exclusively...and no one ever tired of it. I used legs, thighs, breasts and necks. No organ meat, (it disgusts me). On occasion we also fed turkey...but the cats were as fond of it as the plain old chicken.

I added a Multivitamin, Taurine and Calcium powder to each serving and the cats thrived.

You, of course, are welcome to trial any diet you see fit for your boy, but I personally think what you are proposing is super labor intensive and may not be practical in the long run, when the novelty of preparing these elaborate meals gets old.

JMO...but certainly food for thought.

Whatever you decide, please ease into it gradually and be mindful that changing diets can cause serious gastro upset...so commit to your ingredients, stick to them and ease him into his new regime, gradually. Trial and error doesn't work!

All best,

Blue Ridge Beef, they are local to my area so get a good variety at the "Claws and Paws" in Huntersville. I put Leto some chicken out this morning.. got a few nibbles then the 'I'm burying this...' motion. Put in a little kitten mix and gobble gobble gobble, almost 4oz. this morning!

I ordered some WildTrax to get the extra vits and am keeping it pretty simple. I thaw the 'tubes o' meat' a little to cut down into smaller portions and keep hand full thawed in the fridge while the rest stay frozen good. Here I'm getting 2lbs tubes just under $2 a lbs.

He does play the... Oh.. daddy's in the kitchen, must mean it's food time! LOL Right now he's chasing his turbotrax ball around and around to work off the breakfast!

Check out the 'Kitten Mix' if you have it available. It contains Beef, Chicken, Chicken bone, Beef Heart, Beef Liver and whole ground egg. Leto digs this one pretty good. The "Kitten Grind" is just beef and beef bone finer ground.

And I like that I'm supporting a local company, their right up in Statesville NC. Wonder if they do facility tours? LOL Pam would LOVE that being a vegetarian! As I get the wrinkled YUCK nose!

I'm having a moment of silence for Pam who must suffer a number of daily crises of conscience living with an omnivore and an obligate carnivore.

ROFLMAO!! :roflmao:

She says she'll be OK soon as she can smooch his little jellybean toes! He's still all.. I'll play with you guys, eat your foods, looks super sexy for you. But touching.. well.. we'll reserve that for another day.

Ahh.. she'll be fine, she is a vegetarian by not liking meats, not for special concern for the chicken, cows and fish of the world. Hahahaha...

I use kitten mix for the kittens when weaning from mom...they grow and thrive on it. But the beef heart causes the offer cats to vomit. Actually Cinny still eats it.

I buy their rabbit and quail from time to time.
