Peeing on Cloths

Cats can be upset just by their routine being disrupted, some cats are more sensitive to it than others... it seems like your boy does get more upset when you are away so if there is someone there then either he's specifically missing you or he's very upset (pissed literally!) that his happy routine is disturbed...

Any Suggestions on what to do while im gone? I travel every week for work and my F5 is more attached than he is and he doesnt pee on cloths.

When i Come home my F5 comes running and has to do his ritual stretch/Clawing on my business shoes. "Ive gotten smart and switch shoes when i come home from a trip =)" Then my F2 appears so he can be pet and played with. i dunno other than i just want him to stop peeing on cloths.

Has he had the peeing issue since you brought him home? If not, can you think back to when it first began to see if you or your wife can pinpoint an event that may have triggered the habit? Are you using the same laundry detergent and softener you always used? Cologne, perfume? Shaving cream, shampoo, deodorant, bath soap? There's a chance that a scent is either attracting him to the clothes or he could be saying that he doesn't like some scent common to your's & your wife's clothes.

FWIW, my F6 has bouts of peeing on bath mats & kitchen towels. After the vet determined he didn't have physical issues, I used Dr. Elsey's cat attract until he stopped peeing in the wrong places. With Taji, his peeing on fabrics always coincides when he's upset about something -- most often when I come back from a trip or when I don't play with him enough.

Have you made sure the litter boxes are in a place he is not feeling threatened? open space so he can see? and enough boxed through out the house? If you have 2 cat you need 3 boxes. one box for each cat, plus one. is another cat bothering him while in the box? you might try the additive cat attract, you can add it directly in your litter. works well.
