I'm not at the ledge or anything, just need to step back and think things through. I think I said the same thing to you when I lost sight of "True North", why we are all here and what the true objectives are.

Again, I'm all good and if I offended Brigitte or anyone else, my apologies.

No worries...everyone is passionate and I understand...I just don't want to go to far off course and want the calendar to be a good, fun thing, not something people have to worry about.

The photos we have are pretty awesome and fun and after all, it will be the Savannah Cat Chat Calendar, so should reflect the savannah cats of our members - that was the original intent and still is...

I can't believe people actually cheated! I did indeed enter photos of my baby in the contest and, yes, I voted for him, but I also voted for some other folks absolutely beautiful babies. It never even occurred to me to cast more than my allotted share of votes. Come on people ... are we really that desperate to have out cats in a calendar? I was looking forward to buying a few for Christmas gifts so non-SV people could see how wonderful these cats really are - I'm so disappointed!

Linda, don't worry! We will be holding the same contest with the same photos already submitted in MAy. This time there will be a short voting period and people will have to login to vote.

But if a person with an eye to what a savannah should look like judges the photos, then the snows, cinnamons and anything else that does not come up to the breed standards, would not be chosen. All weekend long another thread has been active re Savannahs that are loved and are beautiful although they can not be shown. If a photo was selected by someone not familiar with breed standards , but is a great photo, than maybe a sentence or two at the bottom of the photo could explain that the cat shown is an unacceptable pattern or color and educate all that see the calendar. Most of the members of this forum do not breed or show and this would educate us. Just my thoughts. Sue
I think because this is a Savannah lovers' calendar that we shouldn't put any weight on color/pattern. I think it'd be cool to post the name of the cat, the generation and the color, but that's all I'd want to see on a calendar as a pet owner. Who cares if they are breed standard color in a calendar- once again, beautiful is beautiful and only in the show hall and within catteries do we need to contend with standard coloration versus otherwise.

I voted for pretty pictures when I voted- I don't think I even cast all of the votes I had, but I get sidetracked easily :)

I'm not sure that any information was necessarily going to be included, but I would be very careful listing owners' names in a product that may be sold publicly. Perhaps first names only, if at all...

Of course, I absolutely adore Tafari and would love to see him on a calendar, but there are so many beautiful SVs out there ... not only are they gorgeous, but their personalities shine through in the photos. And that is what I want the non-SV people to see - not only are they beautiful animals but loving babies with wonderful personalities. I just hope the next time around folks can behave themselves.

Thank you, Paige, for everything you do to help us newbies and to promote the unique wonderful creatures we have all fallen in love with!
