Brigitte, thanks so much! whew, I feel a little better now :) I will def pick up some Earthborn to see if he likes that. He does eat the dry, but I know being the little piggy and begger he is that he is hungry. So I guess I will try the Earthborn and maybe give him the Natural balance packet once or twice a week. I really wanted him to do the raw, I didnt necessarily want to do it lol but I know it would be best. He just wanted nothing to do with it. And no way will I let him drag raw chicken around my house haha. How often and how much should I offer him the wet being he always has access to dry? And fountain.... great idea! Only concern is the power cord...

Sondra

Sondra, you can cover the cord...take a look at one of our sponsors, Glacier Point - their fountains are awesome!

I tried the natures instinct variety raw chicken but he licked it once and was grossed out or something, would not go near it again. Maybe another flavor I could try. Is Natures balance a good quality? I gave him the little plateful packet. Its like pieces in a gravy. From reading around I saw most people did not feed that daily and also saw many bad reviews for dog/cat dry with recalls

SE is where my kitten is from and there are a few others on here as well who have SE kittens. We often compare notes on what the cats eat and what peculiarities they share. With one member in particular, RascalDad, there are 3 brothers that share the same father. Not too often do we see a behavior in one of them that isn't present in the rest.

As for the SE unresponsiveness, I know they are at some Livestock show/auction in Texas showing their white goats. Pretty awesome looking goats although not the arena I'm dealing with them in. If you're in a bind I would send a text to Holly's mobile as it seems that is her preferred method to communicate.

Sondra,
Every now and then Mayhem (Rascal's brother, Chongo's half) gets finicky. He really doesn't eat as much as the other cats. Unlike JP's cat, mine will eat turkey, but are not a fan of chicken unless grilled and cooled. Then they might get rather pushy about getting some from the humans. (i.e. the claws come out)
I use a different diet from many from what I can figure out. I use Fancy Feast grilled and Royal Canin Adult Select (but kitten would be better for your cat) for wet, with all the Blue Wilderness Kibble (Selective Savor) dry they want. The boys are not fat, rather skinny, but very healthy.
When Holly and Dale are around they have been quite responsive to me and have helped a lot in the past.
What is Atari begging for? (hmmm, Who is Atari's father?????)
JP, Amanda's F3 Cappy is also a half brother to our boys. So it's 4 that I know about.

One thing to note is that just because your kitten didn't like the Nature's Instinct raw food, that doesn't mean your kitten won't eat raw... none of mine will eat any raw formula that has fruits and vegetables added. I have to offer the ground meat without those and the only supplement they don't mind is Mazuri. So if you offered my kitties, including the ones that only eat raw, what you offered your kitten...they'd also refuse it.

Some cats are simply fussier eaters than others. But also, you have to be able to just give them a meal and walk away. Don't stress them by sitting over them trying to "persuade" them to eat. And then you can try taking away the kibble for a few days, and only offering the canned or raw meals and see if a short fast doesn't make your kitten more eager to try a new diet. Doesn't work on all cats, and I would never let a cat go more than 3 days without eating... that can be dangerous to their health.

This post was helpful for me Rascaldad. Our new kitten likes to bounce around from food to food. Thanks for the input.
