Cisco does NOT have lymphoma...he has pancreatitis, colitis, all the itis' you can think of...he will go to the vet tomorrow for a few days to get the meds he needs and nutrition and supplements started, since he is not eating here...and then I will bring him home and continue the regimen...

Thank you everyone - for all the prayers and good thoughts and hugs...this is Cisco's second bought with pancreatitis, liver inflammation, etc...the first time was not nearly as bad as this time...

Aww...thanks wetcats ;) Cisco does not have lymphoma, which is great news!!! Now we just have to get him well...get him eating and put some weight back on him...I know you would be "with" me though - not to worry!

I'm relieved that there's no malignancy. However, his "itis's" are challenging and having been there myself, I know that palliative care for chronic disease is not a cakewalk for the caregiver. Double hugs & head butts to you and Cisco as you both work to get him healthy again.

YAY!!!!!!!

That pretty much is as good news as one could hope for, as obviously Cisco is sick and it was serious... I know that it is still going to be a difficult road to recovery BUT you can hope to fight this and win, so I am so happy for you and Cisco!

Guessing now you push the appetite stimulants and supportive care and wait for him to pull through this?

Thanks guys...the appetite stimulants have not worked thus far...he nibbles a tiny bit but does not really eat, per se, so I syringe fed him today, however, he is getting very testy with it all.

But yes, palliative care is pretty much it...B vitamins, thislyn for liver, meds for pancreatitis, prednisolone and diet change, although that is going to be the most difficult aspect.

They will get him under control and started for me...and then it will be a matter of getting him healthy...I am thrilled he does not have lymphoma!!! But...he looks so skinny and is acting so sick...I just want him to feel better.

And yes, Deborah, the itis' are extremely challenging...and Cisco does not take too kindly to being poked and prodded and all that goes with it...he is sick of being syringe fed..my vet is suggesting a feeding tube if he continues not to eat and fights syringe feeding, so as not to stress him out even more...I don't know about that...

Once the meds kick in and the pain and cramping resolves, he'll get his appetite back. The feeding tube may be the ticket to allowing his poor beleaguered intestines & pancreas to calm down. You'll know if it's the right thing to do if he starts smackin' that syringe out of the vets' hands.;)
