I also like Anaya. I think there are already two Elsa's on this forum so know that is a popular name. Amaka is unusual and interesting as well - does it have a special meaning?

Patti, I came up with Anaya and Elsa when doing some quick research on names. I asked family and friends which name they like the most - almost everyone likes Anaya. Someone suggested Amaka. It is unique and is African name. If I recall, its meaning can be good, pretty, or beautiful. I am drawn to Anaya so it's likely the name I will go for.

I've kitten-proofed master bathroom and for the most part master bedroom (Anaya will be confined to master bathroom for the first few days and I may open up to master bedroom once she's comfortable - will still be quarantined to that area for 2 weeks.

I was looking for cord cover earlier this evening and can't seem to find one at amazon. Does anyone have a link?

On a separate note, Jake had a full bloodwork and has elevated pancreas enzyme. He's been taking denamarin as well as IBD diet. More recent test showed it was at the same level - did not go up but did not go down to normal level. Vet is recommending an ultrasound and if they notice enlarged lymph node they may want to aspirate it. He is doing well clinically and doesn't exibhit any illness. Anyone has had experience with a cat that has elevated pancreas enzyme?

I've used a couple of different types of cord protectors (note that the Critter Cord recently added a citrus odor which some have said is very strong):

How elevated are the pancreatic enzymes? I would think it unusual for a cat to have elevated enzymes without symptoms as pancreatitis is usually painful and potentially deadly. I would definitely follow through with the ultrasound and lymph node aspiration so that you will (hopefully) know what you are dealing with.

Thanks all - I couldn't recall the name of the cord cover - loom tubing is what I was thinking of.

Patti - regarding Jake's elevated pancreatic enzyme the vet indicated the value is 14 and severe pancreatitis would involve vomiting, loss of appetite, and weight loss the value is usually in 30-50 range. Jake has not shown any of these symptoms. Vet said that pancreatitis is often secondary to IBD so an ultrasound will be done and he may need med to treat IBD. I know budesonside is used to treat IBD so it's likely Jake will need to start taking budesonide if they confirm he has IBD.
