When you say 'this virus' do you know for sure what virus you are dealing with? If not, you might want to run a URD panel to pinpoint it. There are several different bacteria that can also cause conjunctivitis and that can be treated with antibiotics, whereas there is no known conclusive treatment or cure for a viral infection. In my mind, it would be a lot better to know exactly what you are dealing with so that you can provide the appropriate treatment. Vets tend to jump on the rhinotracheitis (herpes) band wagon because it is very common, but I would hate for you to miss a treatable bacterial infection because the vet is already convinced it is herpes without doing any specific testing for it.
