Good question. IMO it's predatory behavior from the Serval. I get pounced on and toes bitten at 1AM, 3AM or 5AM consistently every night:). It looks pretty much like this:

Great shot!
Anyway, the word for the day is "crepuscular".
It could be worse..............at least Louie doesn't pee on me.

It's just hyper kitten behavior going after the bed mouse. At 6mo, both boys were absolute devils in bed going after my feet just as I get comfortable or whenever I move or wake up in the AM. I took to wearing double layer white socks so they could chew or claw until they gave up and grew out of it. It only took a month or so.

Isis is well behaved, but the first week home she would attack any movement and try to crawl under the covers with me as she did at her old home. But when under there she would love bite and be restless so out she went to the top of the bed and hasn't been a problem since.

The favorite spot is behind my knees followed by against my calves or shins. Taken a week or two ago, hogging the middle.

I agree with Sunny! Many cats and kittens do this - not just Savannahs, so i don't see this as serval-related behavior.
