Internist has put her in oxygen crate and is giving her antihistamine and steroids. However as my Vet said originally, since this all came on so rapidly, he did not think allergies or asthma. We are waiting for the cardiologist now, and to see how she responds to this treatment. I am so scared for FIP or any other of the worst case scenarios. And they keep asking “was she tested?” I feel so stupid, I really cant answer that right now, I cannot even remember. I do know that I trusted our breeder, and I know that it is a huge risk with all breeders and that none are truly risk free. She has become such an important part of our lives.

We are praying for it to be Still, something simple. Please don't give up any hope, DianeBC, because it may turn around with antibiotics, or.... CALL your breeder and simply Ask about testing--I believe a good breeder will be very supportive of her/your kitten, and will offer assistance, even if the answer is 'not tested'. Can you spend a few minutes with her at the vet's office a few times a day? It may not be practical, but it would do her good to see mum, and lessen her stress. All this IMHO, but with love for you both.

Internist does not “necessarily” agree that there is fluid in chest cavity. He will slightly sedate her with propofol to examine throat area to look for obstruction. That is before they change hands and the next emergency shift Doctor takes over. Lord knows what he/she will see. I hate when different doctors see different things, makes me feel crazy. And I do not need any help in that department!

She is beautiful Diane! My prayers are with you and her at this time. Have they run a blood test? Something similar happened to my baby kitten and we found some weird things in the blood panel. Thanks for updating, it sounds like you are doing everything possible for her!

They see closing or swelling in the trachea or arytenoid cartilage. Will treat over night with
steroid and antihistamine in hopes of it being allergic reaction. If no improvement will
recommend we take her to Boston to have "bronchoscopy" and see what could be closing larynx etc. will make decision around 6am. Cant decide whether to take her out of there now and go to Angel Memorial tonight or wait until morning.
