ok… so new X-Rays, show tracheal swelling has come down. They do now admit some sign of fluid in the lungs, or rather they advise for treatment of pneumonia. Antibiotic, only to prevent secondary infection. Pneumonia could be infectious OR aspirated. (Pray for aspirated.) heart looks normal. severe tracheitis, laryngeal obstruction, paralysis. uugh. I will leave her where she is until at least 6am our time. Will try to sleep now.

Well, I have her, here at home. She is breathing much better, although there still is the slight sound of gurgling. They have sent her home with both the tapered dose of prednisone AND an antibiotic for mild pneumonia. Radiology report is what is troubling. Shows marked improvement over eight hours, but with still concern for "severe laryngeal inflammation causing upper airway obstruction OR laryngeal paralysis” recommending Bronchoscopy when stabilized. uugh My Vet says give it a day or so and see which way she goes……. WHY??? why should I wait?

Because the inflammation may subside and it may very well be inflammation...I don't evny you having to make such a decision, but if you trust your vet, then try to wait and give it a day or two..

Here is hoping the prednisone works and Anaya is much better in another day.

i guess I hate the risk of her going into distress again. especially since it is a 2 1/2 ride to the hospital that is the best, in Boston. The closer one is only about an hour or so away, however, we are not sure how much they will be able to diagnose/treat.

Still holding out for the best for you and Anaya, and it may still resolve.I understand how terribly anxious you are feeling, and helpless. Remember to breathe.
