puffy tails

I frequently see a puffy tail on Havi, but almost never on Fiona, my DSH. Haven't yet figured out what triggers the puffy tail, is she frightened, happy, playful, into mischief? Probably all the reasons mentioned. I love the puffy tails.

Hey all
Does anyone else's savannah puff their tails up and the fur up their backs, when they get really excited or happy.
OH YES,! It's so adorable... Especially when they are all puffed up and walk sideways.

My DSH Paz, and my Yuki only puff the base of the tail with it fully up while they shake their back ends rapidly. Yeti does the full tail puff with it curled in an arch while very excited in play. I always thought that meant annoyance, but he is obviosly having lots of fun.

I am upstairs putting clothes away and I hear Tycen downstairs asking the cats why they have poofy tails, the quote is "why are your tails poofy? What did you guys just do? Show me what you did that caused you to run to me with tails like that!" My house is chaos.

Our female is prone to get a tail that would make a raccoon proud when she is playing hard, she also chirps when she see's animals on the deck.

Yes! I actually saw our F2s Bijou's puffy tail (we call it squirrel tail) for the first time this past week! Nailah, F2 as well, on the other hand, will puff her tail out playing tag with Bijou, when she is startled, when she is extremely happy, when she is on alert... HAHA As often as she does it, I have still been unable to grab a camera in time.

Even our F5 gets a puffy tail when he is inspecting something! It is one of my favorites, as well as the "mohawk" or "ridge back" they get when they are super happy.

Nailah actually gets fluffy all over when I am opening a can of her favorite food!

Loki only does this after he scares the other cat. Normally looks like a rat tail but man that thing gets poofy.
