If only my lower generation cats were not so stubborn and persistent, I'd agree with you....I guess I am lucky in that my higher generation Savannahs (and kudos to their breeders!) are the good ones here and don't create the havoc and mayhem my lower generation kitties do ;)

Wow I have so much to look forward to. I'm letting her kind of name herself. :) she came from a litter of 3 and a cattery with a lot of cats. She was well socialized. She is 16 weeks. I picked her up from the breeder. As to her biting I'm going to have to break her, bc she already bites hard. How long would you all recommend bi quarantine her?

For quarantine length, what did the breeder recommend and what is in your baby's contract? At the very minimum , it should be two weeks, but can be longer if necessary and sometimes can be. Remember, it is much easier to stay in quarantine longer than originally planned, but much harder to start all over....so much better to have a longer than planned quarantine and bonding to you time then to introduce her too early to your other kitties and risk having her bond with them. Quarantine is important not only to watch for any signs of illness, but to have her look at you as her buddy rather than another kitty....

Yes I definitely want to Make sure my fiance and I bond with her. She seems to really be coming around. I have her in the bathroom and she seems to be bouncing off of everything In there. I try to read to her and she jumps on my book/laptop. It's cute but I'm worried her quarantine room is too small? Is this normal? At first she w as s scared and now she jumps all over me :)

I'd give her a few more days in the bathroom before considering moving her to another room. She's definitely feeling comfortable in there and gaining confidence. Look how far she's come already! You can always move her into a bedroom if you think the bathroom is too small or you're worried she'll hurt herself in there.

Sounds normal to me. The kitten was disoriented at first, and now the she knows you won't harm her, the real SV is coming out. **Warning** Kitten may be a handful.:big grin:

It doesn't sound like reading to her is needed... that is more a technique for kittens that are hiding away and not sure about you. Sounds to me like this kitten is unafraid and wanting to interact so talk to her and play with her instead :)

I agree with considering moving her to your bedroom for the remainder of her quarantine to give both of you a little more space...

It sounds like she is doing great, considering how she was just 48 hours ago! I would keep her in quarantine for at least two weeks to assure a close bond with you. You can consider moving her to a new room, just remember that a new move so quickly might upset her again. If the bathroom she is in is in a bedroom, then you can consider opening the door so that she has both spaces available to her.

Yes it is in my bedroom but all my furry kids sleep on "my bed" or should I say the cats bed. :) I have a spare bedroom I moved her to this morning. So I can stop spending all my time in the bathroom...slept on bathroom floor first night. Anyways she is really coming into her own. I was very worried she wouldn't be any different than my f6 but man she is almost like a different species. She is so hyper she Flys around everywhere and loves the extra space. I didn't get much sleep with her jumping over me, on me, and everywhere else. I am so excited :) she is the most amazing little furball. I'm already in love with her!
