Oh Rafiki, stop being so fussy, you're gonna give your mama a heart attack!

I'm happy to hear that you seem to have gotten her eating normal again.

Zeddie can be fussy about her proteins too, but I've always been able to find something she will eat. I give my kids sardines once in awhile, I can't see sardine oil being bad for her.

Does she like the food from your breeder?

Glad things are moving in a positive direction. Never have I had success with feeding cats Turkey, never.

Also as soon as I see the necks and backs on the label of store bought raw, I can forget about my boys eating it. I'm also a bit concerned because Dino doesn't take too well to bone and will start backing up in a heartbeat.

When I spoke to them, one person said that they had increased the amount of fat and another person said they had increased the amount of muscle meat. Technically, they were both correct. Neither one said that the change was to make "Chicken Necks with ground bone and Chicken Backs" the top 2 ingredients. I can imagine that they are getting these items even cheaper than organ meat. Personally, I do not feel that chicken necks are appropriate on so many levels.

And here is an update from my soon-to-be-ex-vet. I do not have a copy of the actual test results yet.

Rafiki's bile acids are significantly elevated (>20times normal).
"Increased bile acids can be seen in diseases affecting hepatic circulation (i.e.liver shunts), cholestasis, or diseases associated with hepatocellular damage."
The next step is perform an abdominal ultrasound to see if we can identify the abnormality. She may need additional testing, dependent on the findings of the ultrasound, especially if a liver shunt is identified. This is the first step. Let me know if you want to discuss further. Dr G

Not sure another vet would give you a better solution, but if you don't feel comfortable with your vet it would probably be best to get a second opinion
