Update on Jammu..... the internal medicine specialist is finally back from vacation and saw Jammu this morning. Jammu had an ultrasound. The liver is very slightly enlarged and thickened but the vet did not seem overly worried with either that or the liver enzyme values. After a long discussion, we opted to give Jammu a shot of Convenia, the antibiotic that took care of whatever we think caused her liver scarring last year. The thought is that anything that one cat has that is infectious the other cat will probably contract as they are always together and share a litter box. He has also never had any issues with Convenia more severe than a skin irritation. We will also give Jammu Denamarin for a month. Oh joy. 2 cats to pill every morning. Double the fun. But the doc seems to think that Jammu should be fine to have his teeth cleaned next month after we confirm with another blood test. And btw, cats with a primordial pouch look seriously hysterical with a shaved belly. Talk about an udder! As much as he loves belly rubs, he is not allowing me to photograph his belly .... yet.

I'll sleep better knowing these 2 are doing better. Hope all goes well with Jammu and that he doesn't get as sick as Rafiki and that Rafiki Brat stays on a level course and doesn't regress. I love your fur babes.

I have a picture somewhere of Zeddie with a shaved belly and a bigger primoridal pouch I never did see! She took my teasing in stride though

So happy to hear your two are doing better

This is so true. With Venus having the cone off after getting spayed she finally got to bath that area... looks like an anatomy part that doesn't belong on a female, only smoother...

Rafiki visits the waterfall.

Now that Rafiki has finally had her booster shots, she is able to go outside again. She is still psycho about getting the walking jacket on - she fears that she is going to vet - but is a happy camper once outside. And yes, her left back leg is shaved from her last visit so this fear may not be totally unwarranted!

Awesome!
I am planning on putting a waterfall or just a flowing "stream" in the enclosure in building this summer.

Our yard is a 2/3 acre hillside with a slope ranging from 20 to 60 degrees. That part of the yard was basically unusable so we installed a waterfall that is 28' in length that dumps into a recirculating pond. The cats do not have access unless they are out on leash. The catio overlooks it and for that reason, we use the catio as much as the cats do. It is a very pleasant place to drink wine, listen to the frogs and watch the birds do the evening waterfall dance.

Carl (cbain) has an awesome enclosure with a pond in the middle. His cats apparently love to go frog fishing. And the water sounds attract other fun cat toys like chipmunks.
