I just had to post this picture for folks that are not on the FB Savannah Cat Enthusiasts site.

This picture is Rafiki's uncle Zinzu and his mom Lizz Lopez. Rafiki's birth mother is his sister. They are from Sandy and Mike Hale at Halestone cattery. I LOVE this photo. I cannot decide what I like more - the gorgeous Zinzu or the absolute artistry of this photo.

I was walking Rafiki today in the front yard and encountered a neighbor. We got to chatting while Rafiki climbed the hill towards the house. The next thing I knew, she was past where the leash reaches. My little monster had wrapped the end of the leash around a sprinkler head and wiggled backwards out of her harness. Fortunately I was able to climb up there and grab her without her bolting. She was rewarded for her cooperation with an extra hour of outside time.

Little stinker! Isn't it amazing how attune they are to when we are not paying attention to them, and how shrewd they are at taking advantage of those moments...

She was probably heading up the hill thinking, mom why are you not giving me your undivided attention, I'm more interesting than the neighbor... Oh sprinkler head, I know how I can get moms attention

I'm glad she was a good girl and didn't run off. I'm not sure what Shango would do, hopefully I won't ever find out.
