Me too... I'd rather a cat that is 10-12lbs and is tall and elegant than 20lbs of chunkiness like my British Shorthair is! Now of course it is really cool when you get the 20lbs with it being all lean legginess...

Robo1, I got the largest cat (by far) in the litter from my breeder. So I don't think it's fair to try to compare my SV against other people's cats (despite me doing that on a semi-regular basis). I feed grain-free dry food and wet food to my cats - Earthborn Primitive Feline and Innova Evo 95%, and Nitro goes through probably 1.3 c of dry and 3 oz of wet a day. But I don't think his size has anything to do with how much he eats. His weight? Maybe, but probably not his size.

Haha, thank you. I still am unsure of what a "big" kitty is; to be honest, it doesn't seem like he is growing, but that my Bengals are shrinking (they seem tiny, despite being decent-sized felines). At the minimum, be thankful you're messing with a reasonable-sized kitten, not a 20 lb, 9.5 month old wrecking ball (okay, it's not that bad...).

It seems that the bigger the kitty, the more of a handful they are. Trouble, who was the world record holder for the tallest cat, was returned to his breeder. With my kitty, the breeder told me she spent a lot of time socializing Nitro and refused to place him is a couple of homes because she thought they couldn't handle him. Thankfully, I seem to be a good fit.
