I hate people. I really do. I swear to God. I feel so bad for the owners. If that were my cat, they would have to lock me away.... I feel like the people who shot the cat should be prosecuted. Animal cruelty.

Savannah Cat in Detroit Needs Rescued

Enraged as I have ever been when I read the reports on Saturday, and definitely distraught when I heard of Chum's untimely death. The media, despite not being complicit in Chum's death, has clearly placed a target on all of our SVs. Your cat escapes, and if he catches anyones gaze is branded as a vicious "wild cat".
I knew the neighborhood as I frequent the area often with regular trips to see relatives in nearby communities while also visiting photo studios in the area and the GM Tech Center. Make no mistake this was a death sentence for Chum promoted by the media and the fact that Chum's death occurred a few days earlier doesn't change things.
From here, I am on the hunt for all the media outlets that didn't write a follow up on the piece. I am also serving fair warning to my local media outlets of just who my cat is and the breed he represents. If they choose to publish an inflammatory article on the breed I will take them to task, not that I haven't done so in the past, but this time carrying a bigger stick.

Wow, so sad! RIP Chum. Hope his owners find some peace during their difficult time. Heart goes out to them.

A picture of Chum I just received, looking content despite his world being turned upside down. Not exactly sure who that would frighten, but certainly myths are larger than reality.

John, of course he's frightening, just look at the car, he obviously ate the corner off the bumper! Can't have car eating monster cats roaming our neighborhoods now can we?
