I have two brothers that went to the same family. At a year, one was pretty average, about 12 lbs, the other just keeps growing. I think he is about 20 lbs now but long and rangy. Go figure. o_O

This is Kovu sleeping next to our cat we were fostering, Sarabi. He's a bit bigger than her, but he is also a fatty weighing in at 17 lbs. We are working on getting him to lose weight, which he has been, considering he was 20 lbs. Not sure on length & height exactly, I've been meaning to buy a tape measure. He is 10 months old.
So cute and funny.. Love the pic..

$1100 is not that unusual for any pedigreed cat breed really. You will pay that for a well-bred British Shorthair, Bengal or Maine Coon for example. If the family says that too often have a look at what they spent the big bucks on...do they like brand-name handbags or nice cars? Do they go on vacations? We all choose how to spend our spare dollars... you just chose to spend it on something that will give you unconditional love for 15-20 years!

People will pay that for a dog and not say anything about, but some think that you just find cats are get them in a box in front of Walmart, you don't buy them.

My kitty is average for his age.

When I first bought him I always thought to myself how great it would be if he got to be a big cat. After having him for the 2 months that I have so far, he is perfect. Much more personality than any cat I've experienced! I could never ask for more. So even if your baby doesn't grow big and tall, he will make up for it in personality.

I will never buy another breed!

LOl so true.. When you mention how much you spent on your feline you swear you can see someone wants to put you in a straight jacket. Just because it is a "cat"..
