Savannah introductions to new puppy

I believe we have made it past the hard part. She decided to follow me down last night. She stayed under my legs and chair. She watched the puppy. Her favorite game is ball. She could not take it any longer watching the dog chase the ball and ran after it. She spent the night following each other. She would stay near me and do a low growl at the puppy.

Today she got up and went down for breakfast down stairs. They both seemed to be playing and chasing. Then she took her normal nap on the living room chair. I am so excited. I believe they will make got play pals.

That is extremely encouraging. Be prepared for them to do a little more testing of each others limits over the coming days! I expect Nylah to get the upper hand on those - sharp claws > jaws until proved otherwise. :D

Yes the cats always win at our house too. Our dog trainer said that any puppy that is raised with cats by a young age will adopt the cats as their pack. So it will all work out. We find the best is to have the dog well obedience trained so that if you need the dog to stop playing with the cats you can do the "watch me" and "come" commands and that usually breaks their attention away from the cats.

Yes, on day one our Ragdoll who is 14 years old jumped on the back of the puppy and attacked him down. Then walked away. The puppy has shown no interest in him since that day lol.
