Savannah Weights

Monte at 4 months old eats a minimum of a pound of food a day and sometimes more diving at the other cats dishes.

Monte is now 9lbs 14 ozs and Chongo is 16lbs.

Holy cow he's growing fast! What generation is Monte? I know you mentioned it, but my attention span seems to be on vacation lately.

Monte is a higher percentage F3, in the 20s. He is a really big boy and it's easy to forget just how young he is until you watch him play. He still has that teenage awkwardness although employs a lot more caution than Chongo ever did.

Update, at just shy of 31 weeks Yeti is at 8lbs. 10oz.

At this rate, if it continues, by the time he reaches a year old, he could easily be 13lbs or more. I'm not familiar with kitten growth patterns, but his seems to be accelerating lately so who knows what he might weigh when he hits 3 years old.

John,
Have you made the data available yet for the 3+ year olds? Also are you seeing any trends for growth in general for kittens?

Not yet, there are a couple outliers that make the data set not really pass muster. I'm pretty sure with removal of the outliers that it would be fairly accurate, but I'd rather have the extra data to make them less significant.

On several generations I don't have enough data to provide meaningful results, although the trend line is pretty much as expected with later generations being smaller in size.

The biggest issue is currently to get to a 90% probability of weight, I end up with a range on the low end that I don't have data for. We'll just call it the Razi factor, and because he exists means I need more data to prove that he is far outside the norm.

I guess I could start imputing the missing data points, and get fairly accurate results although it's just way better to have real data.

Sorry, been crazy busy with some personnel changes at work.

Chongo is actually doing a lot better with food these days, primarily because his little brother eats everything in sight. Monte at 4 months old eats a minimum of a pound of food a day and sometimes more diving at the other cats dishes. Him and Chongo certainly burn a lot of calories each day and the items they turn into toys just keep getting larger and larger.

Monte is now 9lbs 14 ozs and Chongo is 16lbs. I'm sure by next summer Monte will be bigger than Chongo and it will be interesting to see how they sort things out. It's funny that I don't think of Monte as anything other than a kitten despite his size although others assume he is a full grown cat. Without the spots to let people quickly identify him as something else he's just a regular size cat with long legs and big ears.
How old is Monte now?
