I've got a question I have been talking to a breeder in Florida. And she will be sending me pictures very shortly. Hannah Savannah's they have the import export licensure tica registered it is through two separate homes. The breeder and the co owner who focuses on socializing the kittens once weened from mother. She had children and they are socialized with dogs and other cats of course. They are running a valentines day special for 50% off the kittens are 450$ vet checked have both sets of vaccines and microchipped. She said that they focus on sbt kittens but said that they don't specify f4,f5,f6 that they strictly breed sbt to sbt. she seems very nice and I spoke with her for about an hour taking about the cats. she begins training them to use harness and leash. they do payment through PayPal. is there anything specific I should be Leary of here? she said she recommends flying down to meet the kitten and fly back but will also ship.

For what it's worth, I'd steer clear of this breeder. Hannah Savannahs seems to be the same person who originally was EXOSavannahs, (or EXOexotics), and there were a LOT of questions and concerns on FB pages whether they were legit or not. The pics on Hannah's website were the same as EXO's, which seems to have disappeared. A few of the kittens posted on the original page by EXO showed two snow kittens that portrayed an obvious eye infection, and the location of both "breeders" is the same in Port Lucie, Fla. Hannah's snow kitten in one of her FB albums looks like the same sick snow kitten.....just saying...if it sounds too good to be true, then look elsewhere. Your gut feeling is asking questions of us here, and I always recommend going with that when considering a kitten. And I have never heard of a breeder not letting you see the kitten contract until a deposit is sent!

I wouldn't buy. Just a thought but there are great breeders talking to you right now, maybe they have kitties. I can't believe 50% off is realistic . I don't believe you can buy a sv for less than 800. I still would buy in the higher range, well worth the money, never save on a animal....problems arise

Pam is correct...I have info from someone who actually tried to visit these people and they never got back to her, gave her the runaround, etc. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Those prices are way too low and I would not buy from this BYB. Best to buy a kitten from a legit TICA breeder, unless you want issues later on.

I would rather take that 500$ and put it towards a rescue or adoption. At least I know what I'm getting a heathy cat. Everyone wants a kitten. I don't absolutely need a kitten . Yes they are cute, yes I get to take advantage of the easier bond. And I may have more luck with my buns getting along under supervision. But at this point I'm pretty solid on the idea I want to go through one of the breeders here. I'm getting an amazing vibe from everyone here. it would be worth it to wait until I can afford the kitten. Or if I can find a cat to adopt that seems like a good match is also a very good option in my eyes.

Bekki,
My two snows were priced 800 for the 3yr old and 1400 for the kitten that I was originally supposed to receive. (a mixup resulted in a different kitten arriving, and although an error, after everything was settled I kept the ones that arrived and got a refund and now would not trade the kitten for any reason).

Keep asking questions of the forum members and take your time searching. You will avoid scams by following those steps, and with reputable breeders, mistakes like the one I experienced can be worked out.

Wait, what? I don't think mine read this part of the manual...the only thing that happened when I got my second was they HELP each other in mischief making! Maybe my mess up was not getting them at the same time!
LOL, well in the end I'm sure this will happen no matter what... but imagine what life would be like with a bored Savannah with nothing but your home to entertain him???

Just reading everything through this thread I don't have a great feeling about this breeder. First off - they don't know what generation their kittens are? Sorry, this breed is not that old to not know this. Second no contract until after the deposit - nope, no way - that is totally inappropriate. I've seen half-off sales before so the price does not bother me as much as it does others, but there are enough other red flags for me to be a bit reluctant to proceed...

I don't see why marbled Savannah's are frowned upon. Some non standards are simply gorgeous. And I would almost pay extra to get some of those colors. with the savannah body type they look so striking

It's not so much "frowned upon" but simply that our breed is supposed to look like a domestic replica of a Serval and Servals don't come in the classic (marbled)pattern. It's great to like something "different" and yes the marbles can be dramatic and lovely... but there's a reason why people are breeding for the spotted Savannahs :)

I personally love the marble pattern, in fact before I purchased my first Savannah I was actually in the process of getting a silver marble retired Bengal breeder who unfortunately ended up having complications from her spay and did not survive :(

Although that was very sad, it is what turned me to looking at the Savannahs that the breeder was producing instead and got my first F1 baby who just last year finally gave me a gorgeous little girl after a decade of waiting (yes, she is definitely retired now - that girl was an oops, but the best oops I've ever had in my life!)

I have produced melanistic, smoke, silver, and snow, but have never had a marble born here - yet!!!
