Scam Websites

I've never heard of these people. Do they have a website or a cattery name? If you post pics of the kittens we may be able to recognize them - scammers typically steal pics from bona fide breeders and them post as their own kittens.

I'd guess scam. Have they sent you a contract yet? NEVER send any money without seeing a contract, if this is a 62.5% F1 kitten (with Serval dad and F2 mom) then it is an expensive kitten (you don't mention how much but it should be in the ballpark of $15,000)...you would do well to be cautious. Scams often offer F1 kittens at very very low prices, that is the first red flag. Second would be using a courier company as I don't know any reputable breeder who does that! And if they've asked for the money to be sent via Western Union then run!

Have they told you where they are located? You can ask and suggest that maybe you will fly there and bring the kitten home yourself and see how they respond. Most good breeders would be delighted that you would do that, and even ones that don't allow home visits would likely be happy to meet you at the airport.

How old is the kitten now and does that match the pictures you've been sent? Else ask for updated pics and make sure the spot pattern of the updated kitten pics match the earlier ones AND look like the same generation kitten.

Good luck!

Savannah Super Cat
Thank you both, Brigitte, and Patti. To answer some questions--They advertised on a Savannah cat rescue local (Calgary) paper. Their email address is bengalkitten191@yahoo.com and they sent as I said about 22 emails back and forth, so that worked. I have a swack of pics which I will send along, ( you will see why I wanted Sony so badly)
Reputedly they are in Ontario, but the phone number they gave is 709 579-6669 and when you phone it...it's St. John's Newfoundland. So now, I am heartbroken, both because I will never see Sony, and because this became the reason to get up every morning and be excited, you know? Sony was my husbands 40th wedding anniversary present-May 8-he would have been here.
I have spent a lifetime rescuing animals (all kinds) and also people! and now my children do, which is lovely. So since our nest is empty, hubby was going to give me another baby to love.
This whole thing just hurts.

Initial 2 emails-folowed by 3-4 posts of just pics- due to the format of 10 pics per

Thanks for the email , Below are information on Sony-Walker parents so you know where Sony is coming from and Breed Line, some information and pictures of the parents. Pictures of the parents are attached to this mail. The King is Querk, the dame is Hadie and she's F2 Savannah female sired. We'll send full pedigree information in a sealed envelop at the time of shipping of our kitten. My Savannah Kittens are raised in a home environment with other animals and kids present. We have people visiting us all the time, so our Kittens are quite mellow and enjoy the company of people. We have a wonderful reputation over the previous years we've been Raising these kittens, you won't have any behavioral issues with a Kitten from us. Our Savannah's have no debilitating health issues and no genetic defects.

I hope this answers all of your questions. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to get back to me with them.

Best Regard,
Louise & Mel

Hello ,
Thanks for the interest in our kittens. Below are some of their pics, do let us know which of the kittens you will like to purchase. We raise these kittens for home use as a pet only and not for show potentials or be used for Lab Experiments , wild cat fights or Illegal cat activities.. Our Kittens are all 13 to 14 weeks old now and ready to go. We do not ship out kitten if they are not 13-14 weeks old. They're raised in our home with all the love and care they need to make them excellent home pets.

Our kittens are intelligent, curious, and very interactive with their humans. They want to be involved in everything and often follow us around the house, step for step. They find great fun in chasing the broom, playing in the running tap water, dunking toys (and other objects) in their water bowl, and even playing chase. Our Kittens are very good for greeting family at the door, enjoying outings in the car, and cuddling with their humans or dogs. They often enjoy walking on a leash to discover the great outdoors . They're very outgoing. Our kittens will follow you from room to room and keep you on your toes with their amazing intelligence and amusing antics, very graceful jumpers and will keep you entertained with their leaping and pouncing abilities, they will love to see and be seen. They can be trained to walk on a leash and enjoy outdoor exploring. They socialize with other pets.
Our kittens are up to date with their vaccines, and wee pad trained.. We sale our Kittens with a sales contract certified by the council of animal husbandry here,a certificate of origin,a health guarantee certificate- veterinary record, transfer of ownership certificate also warranty valid for the first two years it lives with its new family, toys, extra food packages, a kitten blanket. - what's your weekly schedule like?
- are you after a family pet or a show animal?

Hoping to read back from you soon.
Cheers!!!

How do I show the pics? It says 10, but when I copied and pasted 10 from my email it notified that was "more than 10" each batch that was sent to my email was more than 10---King---Queen---Different Kittens. and Sony. Could you explain the procedure, please? thank you.

I find the emails suspicious just in the way they are worded and some of the items mentioned. Why would they be "wee pad trained" instead of a normal litterbox? That sounds like they've just been changing wording from puppy ads to me. And which "council of animal husbandry"? And "certificate of origin", none of these are terms so much used in the cat world. Additionally how can F1 and F2 kittens be offered as "show potential"? We can only show SBT Savannahs so F4 and further. And why can't the pedigree info be sent now and has to be sent with the kitten?

As to pictures, you probably can't copy and paste...what you need to do is save the pics to your computer (or phone) and then use the "upload a file" button to select the jpg file and insert as thumbnail in your message...

The first four pics are of Brigitte's F1 girl Nina. I am not sure who the other kitten is, but she looks familiar....possibly Katie? (also Brigitte's F1 girl).

I am SO glad you did not send any money to these scammers!
