Brigitte, thank you for the education, and all the help sorting this mess out. It's a shame my first venture into the Savannah cat world was via a stinking scam-at least I didn't lose any money. But I'd like to NAIL their HIDES to the pavement!! It is good that we have all the pictures identified.

This is definitely a scam, and I'm sorry to hear it. Luckily you did not send them money. The pricing for the F1's and F2's was an immediate giveaway, as well as a "breeder" referring to using a courier service to ship to you. I've never heard of any breeder using that terminology.

We were recently contacted by email and asked to send as many photos as we possibly can of any of our kittens, in very broken English I might add, along with other strange questions. After asking a couple of times for a telephone number from them where I could give them a call and them not providing me with one, also getting hostile for me not sending them the photos, I assumed they were likely trying to steal multiple photos to create scam ads also such as this.. :cautious:
My sympathy to you, as these must be the same people that tried to scam me. The person named Louise, DID have an accent-oriental?-of some kind, but seemed kind. At least, until I pressed for an address, or phone number, then he got cranky. Very generous with pics-as you know--all stolen.
This was my first venture into " Savannahland" (rhymes with Disneyland:) ) and I had no knowledge. Ignorance will get me in trouble-like it just did-but I had no idea of the price of any kittens at all.
Thank you for your help also:big grin:

I think when the price of the F1s is a couple thousand, red flags go up. I think I have seen F1s priced at 5500 although not recently (I've not really looked though) but never at 2,000 or thereabouts.

I did buy a F1 5 years ago for 5500.00 that I fell in love with but had to go back to the breeder because it wasn't socialized to well and had a feral cat personality...:( The other litter mate was the same way someone else bought. This breeder didn't want to bottle feed them or socialize them with people. So the breeder suggested getting another F1, so all I can say was ok, we'll go that route since she didn't want to give me the money back. We waited month after month and still no communication with the breeder even when we called and left messages, so we thought we were scammed since she had the cat back and had our money..:( Finally we decided to go through court to get our money back and we did! She didn't even show up in court when she was supposed to. We figured she was just dragging it out.It took about 10 months to go through the courts but we got our money back and of course she got stuck with court cost too!! We also found out she was hiding outside of town where she lived too!! So.....still today I'm looking for that special F1 friend that I want. I did see one I really liked but the price was higher than I thought it would be...I was heart broken. I'm afraid to ask if they will take less since it wasn't selling fast.

Occasionally there will also be adults for sale at a reduced price..... Savannah cat land has a drop dead gorgeous adult female, F1 for $3000. They say she loves everyone and other animals which I would say is quite unusual.... So if you are open to adults and not just a kitten, that might be the way to go.
