My snow is strongly pointed, his brother had no identifiable colour differentiation from belly to points at all. Perhaps the gene is inactivated . But I assure you, his brother does not appear to have any points being of different colours or patters like mine does.

Scientific curiosity drives a lot of things. Even the existence of the breed to begin with was based on curiosity. It's not known what drives one person and what drives another. As long as no one is hurting anyone or not damaging the world, it is all good.

If you are talking about the two pointed cats in the pics you've previously posted, the reason they appear to be marked differently is because one is seal point (solid) and the other is seal lynx (underlying tabby pattern is expressed).

The rule still stands - a seal point will have obvious siamese-type points, a seal lynx will not.

Thank you, I have always been enamoured by Savannahs, especially the Snow and Blue colors. The trouble was that it was hard to find those colors in F2 or even F3 (we wanted our Savannah more on the wild side ). We finally had this nice older lady contact us (her niece had seen that we were looking for a Snow) and told us her F1 Queen had just had two kittens, one Gold and one Snow. I couldn't believe it! I put a deposit down right then and there. Love my Ramses

It's a shame these cant be shown, because they are so beautiful. Since the snow is a true serval possibility, it's a shame our snows don't get more credit.

No. There are no pointed servals. So while there are snow colored Servals, they don't carry points such as snow savannahs do. And I'm a huge fan of snows, but I don't feel just because I'm a fan that they need to be in the show hall.

Agreed with Trish, I do think the seal lynxpoint is closer to the white Serval than the silver spotted tabbies are...but the colorpoint gene is likely not involved in the white serval coloring.

Nevertheless, if someone truly thinks they should be in the showhall, there is a way to pursue that. There is a class in TICA shows called "New Traits", where they can be shown. This is a way of demonstrating how the snow are equal in type to the showable colors/patterns... when a certain number of them have been shown then they can apply to be added to the standard, when the breed section would vote on the issue. Since we have advanced to Championship I'm not sure I know of any snows having been shown in New Traits though...it will take some folk willing to do the work.
