A friend of mine actually found a stray bengal cat at a very young age. He was roughly 4 weeks old when he was found. As of now he is still a great pet for him. I am shocked at the fact that even if he did have an owner, why would they let him out at such a young age?

Depends... it could be that the momma somehow got out and was not found so birthed the kittens outside and he was the only survivor that was found at ~4 weeks of age. It could be the cat might not be purebred Bengal too, a female cat in heat can get frantic to get outside and escape the home. We know of many times when a pet owner has failed to spay a female they bought as pet and thought nothing of it, and then contacted us about their lost kitty not realizing that the hormonal drive is what lead the cat to acting unusually desperate to get out. And sometimes the cat gets thrown out because she is peeing and howling all the time and they don't connect that with the need to get the cat spayed and just abandon her. And when outside she meets up with a likely boy kitty and kittens result.

My Mom has a bengal that was found as a stray. We called the animal shelters, vets, put up over 100 flyers on telephone poles, grocery, pet and drug stores. Nobody ever claimed him and the former owners never contacted the city or any of the shelters. 4 paw declaw, so not exactly a stellar pet owner to begin with and I'm certain he's in a much better home.
