So You Want to Build a Cat Walk?

Oh no ... I hadn't even considered that Zeus will prolly look at my mini grandfather clock as a perch ... Well my desire to put in a cat walk has been reinforced (in an effort to keep him off my clock). How wide should the catwalk be and how far away from the ceiling. I would like to leave room should Zeus turn out to be like Clifford the big Red Dog and grow gigantic from all the love he gets. :)

Oh my! We've been looking into building cat walks as "my cat from hell" said they feel happier having something high as their own space. We better make an extra one or two after seeing some of these stories. The ONLY things really high up in our house besides the refrigerator on the first floor is our mounted wall very thin tv. I'm afraid they will attempt that jump and have everything crashing down including themselves!!

I actually have a catwalk right above my Flat Screen, which is mounted tot he wall above the fireplace...if you look at the video, you will see them sleeping on that catwalk in two or three of the frames...of course, they also use it to get from point A to point B and they also chase each other all over the house on the catwalk, using that one as well...

Not required at all, Rob...but I imagine by just having wood, it would be slippery...I just wanted my babies to be comfortable since I knew they would lie on the catwalk...and I also like color...design in lots of color, so that was another thought.

LOL! Sounds like she is becoming a cat lover???

You may want to use her idea for a couple of the shelves...berber is great, but they may want something softer to snooze on - just a thought!
I think she always was, just didn't want to admit it lol

Last night she was sneezing up a storm...I'm afraid she's gonna blame the boys, but I don't believe it because I'm having so many outdoor allergies right now, that's a more likely source of issues (we've had lots of rain here lately and that always causes spore/pollen problems).

Good idea on the combo. Thanks! :)
