Special needs or not?

I would think the breeder needs to be doing that therapy from the get go while the bones are very flexible if there is hope to correct it. I'm not sure how much I would want to pay for a kitten that might need extensive therapy along the way, but you need to do what you are comfortable with and able to commit to. I have a girl with 3 legs due to problems at birth. I love her to pieces but if the time ever came that I needed to rehome her she would go at no charge and only to the most perfect home.

Thank you for your advice, Kitty is 7 oz now, both legs are straighter, toes are coming up-they were seriously curled under. For the life of me I can't get the picture in here! Oh well wish I could show yous!

Seriously-- at his age, if it is just from the position in the womb, I think by the time he is ready to go home, he'll be 110% normal. All of the pushing and scrabbling helps strengthen the legs and stretches out those tendons that were tightened while cramped up in the womb.

My opinion-- and this is just mine-- if you are worried about him being too special needs, ask if you can put down a deposit now and re-evaluate at 8-10 weeks when he is running and playing. Normally, breeders don't permit that kind of thing- a deposit is a deposit after all to hold a kitten-- but in this case, I'd permit it if it were me. I really think you'll see massive improvement, but ya know-- I could be wrong!

Thanks Trish, I've paid deposit & she agreed to the 10th week determination; as long as he can use a litter box I'd be happy enough to take to vet for more PT. The cat is for my son, ARMY Airborne-parachute didn't open so he is also going thru lots of PT like Trooper...the cat will be with us for 3 months before my son is ready for him but it's what he asked for & talked about for years. Seems with all the extra attention Trooper is getting from the Breeder Mama cat is making sure he gets fed; Trooper is the biggest kitten in the litter.
