DSCN0635.JPG This morning I was outside with our 2 male Savannah cats and all of a sudden both cats rushed into the miniature bamboo and I heard Casey the kitten growling ,at 15 weeks old he caught a bird, he came out of the bamboo growling and ran when I tried to rescue the bird , Casey was not going give up the bird and I could not catch him in the bamboo, he's now a hunter kitten.

Poor bird...yes! But it is the way of nature. Nice rite of passage for Casey. He is a true CAT now.

Good Job Casey... 1 Down and Many to go... Did you let him eat his bird???? After the Bird was fair game....
Casey may have eaten part of the bird and I got rid of the rest, if I see the cats with something they caught I take it away but Casey was not going to give up his bird, if I got within a few feet of him he would let out a loud growl and run, his enclosure to big to try to corner him, Casey has only had access to the outdoors for a little more than a month and in that short time his cat instinct of the outdoors really came out. Casey is 16 weeks old ,7 & and half LBS and loves the outdoors and it's a good thing that we have Cody to keep Casey occupied.

Don't you mean Casey is 16 weeks old? I thought he was a young kitten when you got him last month?

I have not been able to spend much time with my cats or visit chat lately due to problems at work ,The Akron Beacon Journal is laying off people again and I got moved , 3rd time in 8 months , I went from pressroom foreman to building mant. and now security 3rd shift two weeks ago ,I took a vacation this week and when I go back to work it will be days 7:30 am to 4 pm .Today I was able to sit outdoors with the boy's Casey and Cody , our female wont go outside with the boy's very often now that the ground cover is high and she gets mad when one of the boys pounce on her , our kitten Casey was born 3/24/14 and does very well with our other cats, I took these pictures today of Cody and Casey playing, note Casey's oversize feet. I do need a better camera, J. C. DSCN0671.JPG DSCN0671.JPG DSCN0670.JPG DSCN0669.JPG DSCN0662.JPG Casey is no match for Cody and it's play they don't hiss or growl ever during play.
