Mistrial!
The servant admits to having hand possession of chicken.
It is the duty and responsibility of the servants to handle chicken and any other food stuffs not intended for felines, in a secure manner.
The owner is admonished that her responsibilities were not met and therefore allowed a condition to exist whereby false accusations were fermented. Furthermore, there has been expert input into the condition of any possible stool samples would be of dubious value due to the length of time since the incident.
A friend of the court (JP) has noted there is serious doubt to the accuser's story (Fast, my @ss. He's been called Phattticus!). Previous confessions by the accuser have noted significant alcohol intake multiple times, thus degrading the veracity of the accusation.
Consequently the charges of theft of chicken by Atticus the Bratticus is hereby dismissed with prejudice.

I did not convict him! It was a mistrial! Dismissed with prejudice. He's off the hook with no more jeopardy.

Exactly...and, while I was willing to sit on a jury, I'm just as happy it wasn't required. No risk of coughing or becoming frogs, etc.
Atticus--It sounds to me like you're not being fed enough. Time to negotiate for larger portions!

Well I have heard tale from his brother that Atticus is extremely happy. He nor his brother have any idea what adjudicated is, but both are sure it must taste pretty good over rabbit if it's the prize for winning these proceedings. They are seemingly both certain that it must include Au Jus and is obviously kosher.
Obviously Dino watching reruns of Julia Child on Youtube and Atticus watching Diners, Drive Ins and Dives on cable have led to their confusion.
Unfortunately, I don't think that this will be the end of legal proceedings for either of the brothers.
