Thanks Deborah! There are a few things on your list that Dino has turned his nose up to and a few things to try. Not doing the whole prey thing, Trish won't have it and I don't need an already finicky eater deciding he just wants to eat peeps.

I'm not purchasing anything pre-ground from Hare-Today as it seemed like it had some things my boys didn't like before, maybe brain or lung. The whole carcass that I grind just has livers, hearts and kidneys none of which they have seemed to have a problem with.

Yes although sometimes they are cut in half. No fur, stomach or intestines.

I'm probably going to move to the chunks, same thing, will thaw easier and I won't need to swing the cleaver.

Atticus eats 95% whole prey consisting of chickens that I get from rodent.pro and quail that I purchase locally. He won't eat any type of rodent.

For meat chunks he likes buffalo, beef, rabbit, turkey & venison. On the rabbit, sometimes he'll eat it and other times he won't. I've purchased various ground meats from hare-today and while he doesn't prefer ground, he'll occasionally eat pheasant. I haven't tried ground duck yet but plan to with my next order. He accepts the ground better if I give it to him along with meat chunks.

Happy to hear Dino likes the duck and rabbit feet. They are a universal hit at our house.

Interesting eating habits.. Noting Atticus Size.. I assume he likes his Turkey and Buffalo Whole :)

Yep. I wish Dodo birds weren't extinct. They would be a nice snack for him. I've been trying to source ostrich and emu for him too then I'd only have to feed him once a week instead of twice a day.:big grin:

Why don't you get him a few Ostriches. Maybe start a breeding program in your backyard. Might hold his appetite for a week or so....

I always prefer to feed Dino prey that he could conceivably bring down in nature. Obviously his big brother Atticus has a much wider variety of options in that category.

If the stinker would eat mice, rats & guinea pigs, I would be happy with the variety of protein he ingests. However, since he will confine himself only to chickens & quail, momma ain't happy and will feed him whatever meats he'll accept. I was quite surprised that all of them liked the venison. I'm relieved that I haven't had to go hunting for bear, elk, & moose :big grin:
